The only thing on the internet that I really have a problem with is when people misuse the words 'to' and 'too'. I have no idea why this pisses me off so much, but it does Rahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! RAAAAGGGGEEEEEE.

Example: "I went to a party last night and had waaaaayyy to much to drink lol" -.-

So what grammar mistake shits you the most?

This is more of a personal mistake, but I have an annoying habit of holding the shift key for too long when I try to capitalize words, usually at the beginning of sentences when I start typing fast.

Example: "GOd damn it I did it again. WHy do I keep doing that? IT pisses me off to no end."

GRAAAAAH WHY CAN'T I STOP DOING THAT!!?!?!

I've gotten used to most things...though to be honest, people misspelling the word "definitely" still gets to me.

Apparently, we have a lot of defiant people making definite statements.

I get the shits when people misuse words, or don't understand their definitions.

My typos really annoy me when i'm having text/message chats with someone. I type too fast to really read over my responses very well at times until after i've already seen the message. When I see that i've made a typo, I die a little inside.

As far as others go, I guess it would be the whole "lolspeak" bit, or whatever it's called. That business that others in this thread are mentioning about people intentionally misspelling words to sound cool or whatever. It seems a bit pointless to do that, since people who do, at least from where i'm sitting, are much less likely to have their points be taken seriously.

As someone with the deepest respect for the English language, the ones that cause me to cringe most are as follows:

"Then" instead instead of "Than". It just doesn't get worse *than* that.
"Your" instead of "You're" If *you're* the sort of person to say this, you need to work on *your* grammar.
"Lightening - REAL LIGHTENING" instead of "Lightning". "Lightening" is something that goes in cakes.
"Defiantly" instead of "Definitely". I'm assuming this is a purely habitual misspelling, as anyone who read the word would see that it is entirely unrelated.

I get pissed off when I have to work out what the fuck a word is when it's made out of symbols and numbers. TYPE LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE, YOU FUCKING IDIOTS!

there =/= they're
your =/= you're
its =/= it's
etc.

But what really drives me insane is when people replace whole words with single letters or numbers.
"hi 2 u 2"
RAAAAAAGE!

Me too. And I agree it's really annoying when you have to read your own failures although you know it better.
And all these you're/your. I mean I understand it if you're non-english, but I just don't get it how UK or US people can make that mistake. It's not like they don't see these words used correctly every day, right?

Don't forget that Europeans are not so great at the English language having little grammar points such as these. It's great that they learnt English so they can talk to a wider audience.

Misuse of the words you're, your, there, they're and their annoy me the most. Also of, off, to and too.

Off especially because I see it most days at work on our job sheets. 'Supply and install 2 off....'

Typos are excusable because they are accidental but other than that.

its / it's

Largely because it's the one I get wrong most often, even though I know how to do it right. It really pisses me off when I see I've done it wrong again. Because of that I've been paying special attention to it, but that also makes me notice it more in other people's posts.

Instant this. I can't elaborate more.

I am "defenitly" one, so I try to replace it with "surely" or "for sure".

I hate when people have caps locks on by accident. iT REALLY GETS INTO MY NERVES!!!

My job requires that I grade student essays and such, so I've seen some truly horrendous grammar/spelling mistakes. As a consequence, I'm not fussed when I go on the interwebs and someone has committed an error/errors in grammar or spelling. I'm probably desensitized to it, at this point. In fact, it's the over reliance on spell-check that makes for some really unintentionally funny papers that break up the monotony that can be marking assignments.
