Graphic novel experts help me out...

I'm looking for the name of a graphic novel I skimmed over around 4 years ago. The premise of it was something like superheroes beings dickbags to the general population and some guy who's girlfriend gets killed when one of the heroes acts all "bull in a china shop". This guy who just lost his love gets approached by some thug looking guy recruiting him to bring said dickbag superheroes down.

I realize all too well this is a piss poor description but any help would be appreciated.

That would be 'The Boys' by Garth Ennis. The Same guy who did the "Welcome Back Frank" ark of Marvel's 'The Punisher', 'Preacher' and the first few volumes (five or six of the hardback Trade Books) of Punisher MAX.
