Gravity Falls (new Disney Channel cartoon) dedicates entire episode to video game references

So if you haven't seen this new cartoon series 'Gravity Falls' yet, you really need to fix that. One the most recent reasons is the newest episode's plot was about accidentally bring his favorite video game character to life. (Rumble McSkirmish from the classic Fight Fighters)

So yeah, I don't know why nobody's really talking about this show around here because it seems like something a majority of us would enjoy. Especially with this episode.

So yeah, I don't know why nobody's really talking about this show around here because it seems like something a majority of us would enjoy. Especially with this episode.

Not my kind of show.

I definitely get a laugh out of it, and it's got some good qualities to it (like the animation), but the random humor has been something very tiring for me, since that seems to be the theme that many cartoons have been shooting for. Plus the characters are kind of on the dull side to me.

Of course I can totally understand the appeal of this show, I would probably watch it along with my siblings, but not really a fan of it.

An over-the-top video game character busting out street fighter moves is pretty damn random, although pretty damn funny at the same time.

Yeah I watched that days ago and the game reference were awesome since I grew up with those games. It was mainly Street Fighter, Street of Rage and other fighting and video games related references. The end credit crack me up the most (well and also the bonus car stage scene).

This is one of my favorite shows of all time, despite there being only about ten episodes or something. It's such a god damn great show.
Waddles is the best character.

I still haven't seen the two latest episodes due to my schedule. I love Gravity Falls, it has excelled beyond my favorite show on TV.

Yeah but I always thought random humor was like Family Guy where there will be a random cut-off gag that has nothing to do with the plot at hand at all. I mean I think the humor here complements the show pretty well even though it's weird (well I guess so because it's a weird show.)

You kidding? The number of users I've seen bang on about this thing, you'd think it cured their diabetes!

Oh but it has! If diabetes were replaced with 'my longing for an awesome cartoon that isn't ponies'. (Not that there's anything wrong with ponies, I'm just saiyan.)

No matter how much I enjoy MLP and Gravity Falls, I find it absolutely astonishing that my two favorite shows on TV are a show about ponies and a disney cartoon.

Rest of television, get on my level. Or rather, MLP and Gravity Falls's level.
