The Green Lantern corp is an intergalactic police officer in the DC Universe. The weapon they wield is a power ring that translates his ideas into green energy using the strength of his willpower.
It is an organization created by the Guardians of the Universe that has established thousands of members distributed throughout each space sector. They are charged with capturing and detaining the intergalactic criminals of the universe
Each Green Lantern wields a power ring that can generate a variety of effects, sustained purely by the ring wearer's imagination and strength of will. The greater the user's willpower, the more effective the ring. The upper limits of the power ring's abilities are not clearly defined and it has been referred to as "the most powerful weapon in the universe" on more than one occasion. It has also been stated that every weapon has a weakness and the weakness a Green Lantern ring has is its wearer (though some argue that this is its strength) The rings are ineffective against the color yellow, though it is possible that seasoned veteran lantern to overcome this

Character History: One of the few remaining fully functional hooders, Amistad is presumed to be Thousands of years old, if not more, but has not been sentient for more than a few decades, and it seems that much of him prefers the animalistic, instinct-driven existence of his past. Until recently, he lived on Masada, continuing his old function as the most dangerous predator of the planets deadly ecology, rarely communicating with 'civilization', though now he has been tempted away by the offer of a place in the Green Lanterns. However, his price is simple; in return for his service, the Lanterns will use their authority to close off Masada to the rest of the galaxy, and make sure it remains a wasteland world, for at his heart, Amistad still serves the Astether
Character Personality: The mind of any alien is hard to penetrate, but the mind of Masada's one sentient inhabitant is harder still, for not only is he a bio-mechanical construct, driven by instinct and inbuilt programing, but he has also been raised to a level of consciousness his race was never designed to have. His motives, values and very thoughts are seemingly contradictory, even to himself, and he often struggles with his conflicting natures
In his deepest core, Amistad follows his programming; he must guard Masada, both from outsiders come to dig up old, evil secrets, and to keep his masters firmly in the past, for reasons only they knew. However, with the advent of sentience, Amistad was given free will, but no objectives to go with it. He has no sense of pleasure, gains nothing from eating nor consuming chemical cocktails, cannot procreate and has none of his own kind to socialize with. As such, he has no sentient aim, and uses his intellect more like a tool than a state of being, and continues to serve his programing
As such, Amistad is a a creature of simple needs, and few moral restrictions; he will do what he must to protect his world, and will not hesitate, no matter the cost. He can be harsh, implacable and utterly without mercy, and while this does not prevent him from being kind, friendly and diplomatic, these are merely sides of personality he rarely has the need to use.

Species Physical Description: Picture the spine of a giant, ten meters long, on the end of which is a spoon shaped cowl. All down the spine, which is separated into 20 segments, come a pair of jointed legs ending in points, except on the last three segments, which are progressively smaller and end in a blunt tail. Under the hood is a a face more like a factory machine, a vicious mouth hidden behind two layers of outer teeth, and surrounded by at least ten limbs, ending in different attachments, mostly wickedly sharp blades, though four have small, hand-like ends shaped of four small tentacles.
Species History: The planet Masada is unique, in being the only known world to have a totally artificial ecology. The nature of is creature and plants are manifestly hostile to almost everything foreign, living or artificial; the animals deadly and the plants poisonous, the very earth infested with tiny molluscs who attack and grind up any non-moving solid larger than three millimeters.
The Shellsnakes are a primary example; huge, vicious monsters whose main function appears to be to hunt and kill anything it sees, then in the process of eating rend the victim into the tiniest of shreds before plunging them into a stomach full of industrial scale acids. If this wasn't enough proof that it was designed with a purpose, it's genetic code speaks for itself; no redundancies, no repetition and no recessive genes; someone wrote the DNA and wanted it to stay that way.
The question of who wrote it's genes is largely unanswered, but it is assumed to be the original inhabitants of Masada, the Astether, a race of whom almost nothing is unknown, and that which is has been gleaned from Amistad. It seemed that the Astether, for reasons unknown, decided to commit racial suicide, taking self destruction to the level that they used their technology to destroy itself breeding an entire planetary bio-system deigned to make technological life impossible, and to destroy any life not recognized by the system. Whatever their reasons, the Astether wanted to make sure that they never, ever come back.
Amistad's story also raises more questions than it answers, for until recent history he was nothing but a mindless animal like any other hooder. However, about forty years ago, something in the planets core apparently reacted tot eh number of visitors to the wasteland world and sent a pulse toward the nearest hooder, drastically altering the layout of it's brain and giving it consciousness. This hooder came to know itself as Amistad, and with it's newly gained intellect was given a task; rid this world of intruders, for the Astether must not be disturbed. At first, Amistad took this to mean he must fight the off-worlders, but this proved impossible; despite his capacity for violence he could not patrol a whole world. instead eh took up a diplomatic role, arguing his case that as executor of an entire races last will and testament, he could be allowed to legally close off the world. Approach was mired by complex legalities, and Amistad retreated in disgust, to search for a new way to protect his world from intruders

He loved the ring and is obsessed with his power.

However in his teen years his family fell on hard times when his father lost his job. Soon after the Usagi family found themselves living in the slums of Sirus. Jon's mother was set to travel to a nearby star system to sell a new shipment of goods which would set the Usagi family back on track. However weeks passed and Jon's mother never returned. Alone with his father and younger sister Jon needed a way to help his family out. Instead of turning to violent crime like many of the other children living in the slums of Sirus did he used his intelligence to make money. He became a hacker known by the handle "Knight" and started siphoning funds to him and his father's accounts. Over the years he and his family have been living a comfortable life using any excess funds to help the poor and needy.
Character Personality: Although he is usually seen as a laid-back, jovial fellow, Jon also shows a deceptively cunning and serious side when the situation warrants it. He commonly uses idle conversation and outward concern as an act of distracting his opponents. Despite his care-free attitude, he always speaks politely, but is sometimes sarcastic. He would also classify himself as a womanizer.

Their inner organs and workings are very similar to humans though with some major differences. For starters they possess 2 hearts (one in the chest cavity and one located in the abdomen) and no liver. They also have a high metabolism which allows them to enjoy larger quantities of food. Their brains also function beyond normal humanoid standards granting them higher IQs then most species. However on the downside their bones are more frail then most races making them easier to be broken. Their central nervous system is hypersensitive which in case leads to a higher degree of pain being felt.

Character History: A revolutionary turned fear monger, Ryxian was once considered a hero amongst his people. He was fighting the good fight against his "oppressive" hive, when a particular battle caused him to have an epiphany that changed the entire direction of his campaign. If he wanted to overthrow the dominant hive, he would have to control its people, and the easiest way to do that was through fear. He was not afraid to use underhanded or dirty methods to further the goals of his order, while always believing himself in the right. After a time, Ryxin found himself inducted into the Sinestro Corps for his methods. Having gone through basic training, Ryxin has gained a fair amount of control over his new-found powers and will follow the Sinestro Corps so long as it suits his needs.
Physically, Ryxin is a nearly average Xyrrtyr. His exoskeleton is gray. He has wings. Spikes at the end of his elbows.

Species Physical Description: The Xyrrtyr are an insect-like race of hominids. They're external bodies consist of an exoskeleton tougher than most metals. They are generally tall and variant in color, ranging from a soft tan to bright green all the way to solid black. They walk on two legs, having vestigial structures hanging sown from their waist on either side from a time when they walked on four. These vestigial legs aren't completely immobile, but completely useless as far as the Xyrrtyr are concerned. The body structure of a common Xyrrtyr is thin and almost gangly, with the royal Xyrrtyr being much larger and rotund. Some Xyrrtyr, Ryxin included, have wing structures. The wings aren't strong enough to lift a Xyrrtyr off the ground, but have proven to be a good intimidation factor when dealing with those without wings, as though it were a mark of prestige. Xyrrtyr have small spikes and bumps across their exoskeleton, some of which are natural and some of which are artificial, self-added by the Xyrrtyr as a form of fashion. The head of a Xytrrtyr is topped off with two antennae, used to detect some nearby structures in conjunction with their eyes, which are weaker that that of a human, but just as effective when compounded with the antennae. The antennae function as a Xyrrtyr's ears as well as a compliment to their eyesight. Their eyes can be described as sunken-in and beady, they're set deeper into their face than their other features. Xyrrtyr have a set of mandibles behind which, a much smaller mouth is held. The hands and feet of the Xyrrtyr are similar in shape and generally just as efficient at doing work as the other. Two fingers and one opposable structure, the opposable structure being on the side of the hand and the back of the foot.
Species culture: Once a hive society, the infinite crisis event (that's right, I'm blaming Superboy-Prime) caused a ripple in space time that actually caused the Xyrrtyr to develop a sense of self and self-awareness. This sense, only dating back a thousand years, is still in its fledgling stages as far as society is concerned. The people are no longer bound to their queens, although they still follow the same rough hive structure as before. This in itself causing problems as more and more individuals wish to strike out against their hives.
