I just got this game today. And it's surprisingly fun! I love how the stylus are being used in every right way it can be, GPS, Jacking a car...etc. The environment is surprisingly rich for a handheld, blowing up cop cars to get rid of stars is innovative, and the story isn't that bad. This is definitely a true GTA game. For those whiners saying shit about the graphic, calling it's a GTA 2.5, they can jack themselves off on high resolution graphic porno that I could careless about.

I'd say it's about the 3rd best GTA after the first one and Vice City.

It brings back all of the fun that they forgot about in the last two games and adds a lot of cool new stuff.
The drug dealing in particular is a great mechanic to keep things moving!

It's fantastic, is basically what I'm saying.

I was seriously thinking about buying it, except that I can't find the controls anywhere. Seeing as my shoulder buttons went bad a while back, I was gonna wait till Summer for the DSi. However, if the game doesn't need the shoulder pads for much then there's no sence in not getting GTA now.

So maybe this is more of a question. Do you need the shoulder pads for the game/are they essential?

I am going to get it when I have some $$$

Been hanging out for this more than I was for GTA4....

my thoughs where "oh DS...means they probably wont have 3D graphics.... lets hope it goes back a few steps to GTA1/2 days...." and looks like I am more or less right XD

You may struggle a little - the right shoulder is used to lock on when in gun fights and is the hand brake when driving.
The left shoulder is to re-centre the camera and a few context sensitive actions in-game.

I'm pretty sure it would be playable, maybe a little tougher in shoot-outs mind.

I played it briefly on an emulator on my PC to check it out and it seems a lot better than I expected it to be.

Graphics look nice, if a little blurry, it seems to be fun and back to the roots of GTA.

Still not enough to get me to pick up a DS though just yet! Its about 1 of 3 games I would actually play on that thing.
