I never thought that my devotion to gaming could overcome one of my biological needs, but that all changed when I bought GTA IV. Everyone knows about the huge time commitment that has to be made when playing the game...well I just graduated, so I've had all the time in the world. I had a doctor's appointment before I bought the game, and I weighed around 153 pounds then. Now I weigh 145 pounds, and it doesn't really seem to be one of those temporary weight loss shinanigins...what do you guys think?

I here it can also raise the dead, supposidly you need to grind up the disc and mix it with a few other common herbs and voila, Instant miracle! A variation of this recipe also works with Smash Bros Brawl, or so I here.

Huh, that is interesting. Let me ask you, did you game with the usual array of snack foods by your side? One possible explanation could be that you were so immersed in the game that you forgot to eat.

*By the way, welcome to the forums. Yes, I look EXACTLY like my avatar*

as long as you werent actually skipping meals it probably didnt do you any harm. it just meant you were occupied enough not to eat in between meals.

you should get on the phone to weight watchers.

I'm a master at grab and eat timing. I can take a bit of food and one drink of soda in the time it takes niko to reload.

That's probably why my dad appears to have lost weight despite getting addicted to Second Life...

i've actually noticed that none of my friends or myself are athletic yet we're all rather thin. and we eat ALL the time when we arent playing some sort of game. i think being so engrossed in a game allows us to space things out. there could be a good theory in this.

seconded and I'll say that covers to any games.

Why can't people play in moderation?

Well, for the first couple of days playing Age of Conan, I was averaging one meal a day, but thats about as bad as it's got for me. Which might be considered pretty bad.

For the first few days of a new game I tend to skip snacks and just stick to three meals.

To be a complete killjoy, perhaps your diet changed because of graduating...I know I suddenly had money for healthier foods, didn't constantly eat burgers in the cafeteria, and no more late night Dennys runs. Probably more likely an impact then GTA4.

I don't know about losing weight, but I definitely burned some calories throwing my controller at the wall every time Kate rang up (at least every hour) proclaiming "I assume you must hate me" in a half-sarcastic voice, not to mention the p*ss-take of an ending on the "Deal" option.
