Okay, so this seems strange to me, I've been playing SAMP for the past 5 or 6 years, literally since I was a kid and couldn't write in perfect english (I mean I still can't) but it seems strange to me that nobody has noticed this, it seems like this mod just caught a small market, and I'm fucking glad it caught me.

I swear to christ I have more than 10,000 hours played on this game, it's worse than a MMO, it takes your life and stomps on it, it sits and farts on it and throws it into the darkest room imaginable. It has anything imaginable, from Roleplay servers to DM, to minigames, hell even recording servers for all the film makers out there.

The servers have 100-1000 players, and yet I never hear anyone discussing the game itself, I would give the game mod of the decade award to it, not only it's highly modable so it looks better than GTA V if you wanted to, it has communities and what I'm truly glad for is that from playing on one of the servers I got taught how to speak english.

it's silly how without that game I wouldn't be able to communicate over the internet today. So why don't you take a look, I'm sure all of you own GTA SA, or if you don't .. ya' know.. it's time for yarrrr' get some loot. Here is the website: http://sa-mp.com

Oh and I just registered on this website, been a yahtzee fan since.. fucking forever, not sure if I'm doing this forum thing correctly, but oh well.

Welcome to the forums!

That is odd, though. You'd imagine a fanmade GTA MMO (or at least one predating the official one) would get more exposure. Does make me worry what else I've missed out there.

I thought about downloading it at one point, but briefly looking into it made it seem like every server would just be a never-ending death-match with the terrible San-Andreas gun-play. I could easily have been wrong about it though, is it actually fun? You don't describe it in much detail in this thread, and the website isn't very helpful either.

I mean depends, the game itself, the shooting mechanics, terrible desync isn't fun at all, but the communities are, it is like a big MMO, you can own your own vehicles, your own houses, businesses, you can lead gangs, it is a real life-ish mmo, think what GTA ONline could of been, you know, hundreds of players instead of 16, all of the houses being purchusable, every business, fan made interriors, moding your cars so you own a ferrari.

It is really just GTA Online but fun.
