Honestly, I stopped enjoying Guitar Hero when GH3 came out. As for Rock Band, the only purpose another sequel would fulfill is to augment the song library for a cheap cost.

Unplugged is on a new console, the Beatles deserve a game (more so than Metallica and Van Halen) and Rock Band seems up to the challenge (not to mention the Rock Band logo is just for sales), and Lego Rock Band... well, I don't really know about that. Yeah screw Lego Rock Band, that is really fucked up.

Let's just pray it doesn't get as bad as Guitar hero seems to be getting.

Actually, Neversoft's schtick is to throw in pointless add-ons, which they've given us in spades in both Tony Hawk (get off the board, BMX, Focus mode) and Guitar Hero (song creator, vocals and drums, slider). Seriously, the game is GUITAR hero. Let Rock Band do its own thing while you just cater to the guitar enthusiasts.

It wouldn't surprise ME to see Guitar hero becoming more and more needlessly complicated on an annual basis. GH5 will doubtlessly do this.
