From the moment I heard that the next Guitar Hero was going to be Aerosmith themed, I was totally pissed off. I can't say that I HATE Aerosmith, but wasn't Revolution X enough for one band?

Anyway, though I haven't played a GH since 3, I was a bit more happy to hear that the next one was going to be Metalica based. It's STILL a sellout in my opinion, but I at least know a few Metalica songs that are quite guitar heavy.

Anyway, the point of this thread is to name who you think would make an awesome Guitar Hero. Basically, it needs to be some one who has a lot of songs, and ones that would be fun to play. I'm not much of a musically inclined person, but I just started listening to some Smashing Pumpkins recently, and I think they would make an awesome Guitar Hero theme. I'm sure some of you out there have a much better idea of who could make a good Guitar Hero than I do, so let's come up with some ideas that are better than Aerosmith.

London Philharmonic Orchestra. You could play the cello on your fake guitar.

Genius stuff.

Best part is, if you choose not to play at all, it won't matter, because everybody else will pick up your slack.

Note: To hell with that, I say Slayer or Iron Maiden.

...I'd say Red Hot Chili Peppers. Fantastic band, lots of well-known songs, very unique style...

But we probably won't see that. It'll probably be one of these new, inexplicably popular screaming metal bands.

How about one that has a ton of Bar-Bands that aren't popular that have small, dedicated followers? It could be like a sellout yard sale.

I'd like to see Nightwish on there. Most of their songs are fun to play on the guitar, which usually translates well for GH.
Also, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top or Divididos. Particularly Divididos. Actually, screw the others, make Guitar Hero: Divididos.

I heard Alestorm? 1. I'm seeing themin a few weeks, they would be one of the best bands to play on guitar hero ever. Possibly some more fun lesser known bands but the minute canon rock appears on guitar hero, I'm never buying one again.

We want Amon Amarth! and ALESTORM! And fun lesser-known bands like them.
Amon Amarth would be epic. I'd never heard of Alestorm, thank you for bringing them up so that I could find them.

I also second the calls for Iron Maiden and Led Zeppelin, though I'd prefer they just release anything like that just as DLC for World Tour, thats all these band games are, really.

I can't believe no one has said this yet, but a Tool or A Perfect Circle GH expansion would be pretty good. Also a band called Thousand Foot Krutch has a lot of songs, varying in sound enough for a good expansion.

Kyuss and only Kyuss, my absolute favourite band, if you like Queens of the stone age then Kyuss are better.

What about Frank Zappa, Steve Vai or Primus?

If they were to make a Guitar Hero game that is purely them, it would be proveably good.

In direct competition to GH:Metallica, there should be a GH:Megadeth! :p

And for people who own both, there should be an easter egg where if you play 1v1 guitar Hammett vs. Mustaine, the winner kills the other one on stage. I'd laugh!
That would be awesome :)

Do we really need to talk about this?

Gypsy sun and Rainbows. (Jimi Hendrix Experience, I know their original name is out of date, but I still prefer it...)

Though if that didnt work out, I'd love to see the Dropkick Murphys.
