So, I'm thinking about buying another gun. Trouble is I'm not entirely sure what to get. I'm leaning towards a .44 Magnum but I'm open to suggestions. I already have the following : .357 revolver, .22 Automatic, Glock 22, 12 Gauge Shotgun, and various calibers of high powered rifles. The primary purpose of this one will be target shooting so accuracy is key, magazine size not so much.

*Note : Any "GUNSAREBADOMGWTFBBQBANTHEMALL" posts will be reported. If you have a problem with firearms or people who own them, go elsewhere. This is a big site, there is a lot of stuff to do.

Have you thought about checking out a range that will rent you a gun? It's a great idea as you can get some basic lessons in safety and some shooting tips, at the same time as can give several guns a spin see how they fit your hand, how firming them feels. All in a safe place. Unless you have some gun nut friends willing to head over to the range with you so you can fire off a few of their weapons I highly recommend it.

Go for the Glock, it's light so the backfire isn't big.
I have been a big fan of the Glock 27 .40S&W in a subcompact as my carry weapon. However I picked up a Kimber 1911c .45 subcompact at a good price, its pretty much the same size but a bit thinner and lighter. Lighter goes a long way towards comfort felt when carying. I think it may just be my new favorite.

However I wanted to point out that lighter equals a larger recoil felt with a gun. Therr is less mass in the firearm to absorb some of the energy and keep the weapon from moving.

I already have all of the ones listed except the .44 magnum. I am looking for ideas for an additional one.

I think he already has one.
Thank you, sir...I wanted to say "reading is hard" but didn't want to sound like a douche in my own thread asking for help. :p

Yes, I think you are right. No sarcasm intended, guns are not my strongest point of interest....maybe my mistake might be found sowehere in the middle of that.

Get a 1911 for .45 rounds. Pricey but oh so nice.

Wish I lived in a gun-toting country, lucky git. :(

Get a Thompson Contender. There's a lot different types of barrels for them (both rifle and pistol calibers). I recently got one with a .204 barrel, and its one of the more accurate rifles I've shot. There one of the best guns for target shooting IMO.

Meh, I don't know much about guns. How about an AG3 for trying out something new?

My old man actually has a .35 Thompson Contender. It is indeed fun to shoot but he lets me shoot it anytime I want and atm I am the only one of his kids that has a pistol permit (required to possess any handguns in New York) I inherit it by default when the time comes.
