I've already chosen my character for Borderlands, which is Mordecai, but I don't know which skill tree to build him on.

ARGH! It's level 10 with my Night Elf all over again.....

I went for a combo in sniper and gunslinger (I think with more focus in sniper but I forget). His hawk is pretty useless so forget that.

What? His hawk is the shit! If you max it out it can destroy weaker enemies and distract stronger ones, and you don't need to waste ammo on enemies in cover.

I pretty much just upgraded my hawk and did a gunslinger skill set, The only hard boss for me was Sledge.

yeah bloodwing is awesome, get class mods that up the amount of targets he can attack, if you put points into swipe you'll get a buttload of money. I would say try to make your bloodwing badass, but dont ignore the other skill trees completely, sniper and gunslinger are both useful

Apparently I'm wrong, now I want to check this out. Too bad I just started playing with my friend online like a day or two before this thread and chose a different character.

By the end of the game, and certainly the DLC, you'll have enough skills points to branch out into both.

check it! [http://www.borderlandsthegame.com/skilltree/mordecai/]

I went sniper to max shield penetration, reduced sway/increased accuracy and damage, and reduced cooldown for Bloodwing whenever I shoot something with my sniper rifle. Then I went down the road to max Bird of Prey. Then I went down Gunslinger to get increased crit damage, healing whenever I get a kill, and reduced Bloodwing cooldown.
