Surely some other escapists have run into girls like this. The ones who will make statements like "I wish we lived in a world where all guys werent complete fuckfaces". Even if they aren't necessarily (stereotypically) feminist, this just totally drives me insane. I don't want to say it's sexist, because I almost think they don't mean literally "all guys" when it's said, but it certainly comes out that way. Like if I said "I wish all women would stop being such dumb bitches", I'd probably be assaulted for it.

How much does this annoy others, if it does?

Just tell the girl she's a B with a capital C and see if she figures out waht it means.

anyway, it annoys me, but I'm not that thin skinned. besides, usually I did something asshole-y(? really, thats spelled right?) for them to say that first.

It annoys me, but then I can show that not all guys are assholes and make a new friend.
Or, I can just ignore them and keep doing whatever I'm doing.

I'm an asshole, so I can't provide a counterexample. When this happens, I say "To disprove this statement, you only need to find one guy (in 3 billion) whos not an asshole. The odds are against you." You can guess that they tend to not be receptive to this appeal to reason.

THANK YOU. I just got into an argument with my girlfriend over this.

I don't care about these individual subjects. Any statement of "All of X is Y," or "All of X is better than Y." is inherently false.

It does annoy me but you have to accept it, but not respect it!

It annoys me, but when someone does it, I tend to look them in the eye and reply with an insulting blanket statement about women. They get mad, but then the double standard sinks in and they usually cut it out.

Although, at my college, there tended to be a vicious cycle among a percentage of the people: A normal girl is hurt by a manipulative douche, she becomes a cold-hearted shrew. She hurts a normal guy, he becomes a manipulative douche who hurts a normal girl. Lather, rinse, repeat.

It lets me know how to treat them. The chicks who believe all guys are assholes are obviously only dating assholes, which shows quite clearly what one must do to get in bed with them....be an asshole.

The choice is up to you whether or not you want to be one to get with them.

It doesn't bother me, because when someone says that, I get to step in and be a genuine nice person, and change their perception entirely. I do not discriminate, I am nice to anyone and everyone.

Unless you're mean to me.

Then your ass is grass.

Yes, but I obviously tend to be more offended by things that are pointed at me.

I don't want to be friends with people like that to be honest. And I usually ignore them too.

Eh, fair enough. I'm usually not the kind to get offended, but for some reason stuff like this just annoys the shit out of me.

And when I hear girls say it, it's usually a blanket statement in which I did nothing.

Nope, not at all. Not unless it impacts my life directly, i.e. Said person is directly insulting me, I know the person and I think she's overreacting, she's saying referencing a friend of me ect.

Question:

Why does the opinion of a random nobody who's clearly an idiot matter to you?

It bothers me quite a bit, though when it's said, it's usually swiftly followed by "But not you, you're the exception." or something along those lines.

What does that even mean? I like Grass, it's nice to lay down on; cool, fresh, relaxing. Is that a compliment?
It's a shortened form of the phrase.

The other half is "...and I'm the lawnmower."
