Guys I need some help with surround sound speakers

so basically I have an LG blu ray player that has a surround sound hooked up to it via 2 wires one black the other red.

Theres an opitcal port on the BRP and I was trying to connect it to my pc to enjoy surround sound on my pc

no luck

any help?

Do you have the model number of the BRP? Does your PC have an optical output? If the BRP is not also an audio receiver then the optical port is probably only an output. That means it can only produce an optical signal, it can't receive one.
