Half life 2 co-op?

Is their anybody else that thinks HL2 would be even more fun, if it we're co-op campaign.
Like the previous version on PS2 HL1, might of been blue shift, i actually have no idea, but it was really fun.

You mean Decay, that was a PS2 exclusive and it was actually pretty good.

Best bet would be to look for a mod, there's got to be something along those lines somewhere.

lol I remember the ps2 co-op, it was crap IMO, it had little story other than "break out of here" and the level design was mediocre at best, also why was I forced to play a random woman?(both were women) they had even less character than Gordon (which is saying a lot really)... so no.

You're thinking of Synergy, the Half-Life 2 co-op mod. It's got other maps as well but it's also got a faithful co-op mode. I've been playing it with my wife recently.

It does dilute the experience somewhat, yeah. ESPECIALLY Episode 1. However the shootout parts are great fun (so you can see why we're really looking forward to Borderlands!).

If youve got half life 2, chances are you have steam (unless you pirated it.. shame on you ¬.¬), in which case look in the steam store for a mod called "Synergy" it lets you play the HL2 series (not HL1 unfortunatly, thats another mod) in co-op, and there are many custom co-op maps/campaigns to go with it too..

Actually, there IS a co-op mode. It's called GMod. Learn to love it~

Its ALYX Vance btw and I guess it would be cool to play with a friend although id rather be alone the experience is much better that way.

Guy's i've played synergy and Gmod, i meant a proper developer co-op campaign, not some boring very buggy weird custom mapped mod.

I don't think HL2 would fit co-op without a major level design. The puzzles and vehicles are one-person, and there are a hell of a lot of narrow corridors. Most of the time, it would be Player 1 taking down the enemies while Player 2 uses him as a human shield.

I for one would love it if there was a Co-op option. They have experience on co-op campaigns from L4D.

But, HL is a game in which you always get the "Somebody has to go in there alone" thing (not that it would be ok to sit back while someone else goes in the reactor chamber,for example)

There is a mod that lest you play HL2 and the Episodes with up to four players.
