If its real finally people can shut up about it. I mean I get wanting a story to be complete I really do, but Half-Life 2 is incredibly dated. Yes good characters but its mechanics have been done better elsewhere since it came out. I mean I finally tried it and it is literally the only Valve game I couldn't get into. Even after I got the gravity gun. If it really is confirmed soon more power to you guys who've waited so patiently. I understand waiting for a long awaited 3rd installment (KH3), but if it finally means people stopping the memes thank freaking God.

Would people even care if it was confirmed outside of jokes on how it's about time?

Enough time has passed that the intended generation of gamers for this franchise have pretty much moved on. It would be about as exciting as when I heard that Kid Icarus was coming out with a current gen game or when Duke Nukem was making a comeback.

Having said all that...if ever there was a new FPS game that has a chance to breath new life in the genre like Bioshock did...it'll be Half-Life 3.

I lost count how many times Half-Life 3 got confirmed in a similar way, it became a reaccuring joke on the internet, the guys who wrote that description probably were saying jokingly that this card will last you a console generation.

Half-Life 3 has been "confirmed" more times than there are atoms in the visible universe. I'll only believe it when Gabe Newell comes out on stage at a big trade show wearing an HEV suit and wielding a crowbar. Otherwise, it's a joke or someone just relaying a rumor they heard.

Dude, just wait untill you play Half Life 4 to know that you played Half Life 3, thats what I am doing.

The game was legitimatly confirmed by Valve years ago, they even had an official release date. That release date was in 2007 and there hasn't been any updates on it since that time, but that's beside the point.
