So this just showed on youtube. First imma let you watch it.

Now i want to ask. How do you feel with the evolution of this series. Do you feel like it shouldv ended in Halo 3?

Do you have hopes for this continuation of the Halo series, even now that it is in new "hands"?

I personnaly am not that Huge fan of the Halo Series, it was never a big thing for me, but i know of many people that talk about it has it was the bible or something. I for once understand the feeling has i would react the same way if Half Life 3 ever got announced xD

I'm curious why his armor seems different. Might just be the game's aesthetic, but in context, Chief wouldn't have any time to build a Mk. 7 suit, what with the whole cryogenic freezing and being trapped in deep space thing.

They should have left it dead. Then 7 or 8 years from now we could all get excited about a reboot, but no, they have reanimated it's corpse and started raping it.

I'm still cautiously optimistic - but a bit moreso now, because I do love those forerunner structures they've got on some of those maps.

I've few doubts that 343 will be able to make a good game, I just hope it's as good as the other Halos. What I worry about most is the story - the Covenant arc is over, what next?

Thing is, the Covenant arc isn't over, it's just in the background. According to the novels and comics from Halo Waypoint, the Elites are still rooting out the Jiralhanae controlled sections of Covenant Space.

Perhaps, but that seems a bit weak for the main plot of a Halo game, don't you think? In a series that has consistently been about truly powerful threats to our species and indeed the entire galaxy, rooting out the last few bastions of Covenant resistance seems like a good fit for a DLC, but I personally would like something more substantial for the main plot.

Eh, depends. One of the Comics was about an Elite who felt regrets for glassing a human planet during the war, so he goes back to that planet to search for answers both physical and spiritual. He apparently finds the Loyalist Covenant searching for something substantial in the ruins, potentially Forerunner tech. He kills them all and enlists the help of some of the humans who survived the glassing, and then the comic ends.

That's an interesting setup, and I'd love to see it concluded.

I may have to try picking up a few Halo comics in future. As of now I pretty much only play the games. It does sound like an interesting setup, but we already know Halo 4 is going to be from the Master Chief's perspective (not to mention apparently fleshing him out as a character) so it's unlikely it'll be included in the game. Once more: DLC. Singleplayer DLC hasn't been used at all in the Halo series as far as I know - it should be IMO, there's many new avenues of the universe to explore.

Well damn, I'm seriously excited.
Yeah, it's illogical how his suit changed, and yeah, it's a little silly having an even bigger threat than a parasite that will literally eradicate all life in the universe, but by God it looks epic.

i get a weird sense that the multiplayer will continue to be great, but the single player will suck.

which I find true of most FPS' these days (Battlefield and MW3 especially)

I feel like there are way more stories yet to be told in the Halo universe. The end of 3 left open some interesting points to pick up on. I don't think they will pick up all of them but there is more than enough there to make something worthwhile.

At first I was really sceptical about this new studio working on the series since from what I'd seen of them they were just Halo fanboys, and Halo Anniversary was nothing more than an unnecessary reskin in my opinion. But after seeing more it seems they have got a lot of good people working on this game and they have a strong vision of what they want to do and how to make it work. Halo 4 won't be what we are used to in some ways, but it should be good.

Although I really think it's a silly idea to try and explain why red and blue Spartans fight in multiplayer. No-one was asking that question. No-one cares. It doesn't matter and it doesn't have to, and it won't make the game better if you do explain it.

I fully agree here. Focus on the parts of the story that actually matter please, 343. Of course, I doubt it took much thought to come up with a reason reds and blues are fighting anyway.

It's available as a motion comic on youtube. Here's the first part.

Didn't Rooster Teeth already come up with one anyway?

I'm guessing it's just a different variant of the Mk. 6. He probably had to switch into a spare suit that he had because the armor he used for most of Halo 2 and 3 was getting pretty banged up (seriously he jumped 2 kilometers in that thing). Maybe scavenge some parts. Kinda of looks like rogue armor.

OT: Like many others, I am cautiously optimistic. So long as they don't give into the screeches of fanboys and basically make it Halo 3.5, I'll probably be happy with it. I don't mind that they're bringing the battle rifle back, but then again I really didn't mind when they took it out either, the DMR pretty much handled the same way.

Also why do people need a reason for the multiplayer to work into the story? People were saying that the ME multiplayer was "great because it fits into the story" Well I'm glad that they like it but I don't see why that's important. Reds kill blues because they're blue and blues kill reds because they're red.

If they are giving multiplayer a story then why not use Rooster teeth's Red vs Blue as the backdrop for the story.
