This means no more aliens talking crap in perfect english, no more grunts exploding in clouds of conffetti and smarter more cunning enemys

What is your opinion on this?

Isn't the whole point of the Flood to be scary? In which case why make the other enemies scary?

Halo was never really scary. Once you know whats going on or what you're fighting it cease to be frightening. Thats why Silent hill is still scary, because you're never sure of whats going on. And thats why the original Alien was so scary when it first came out, because you never knew what the Alien looked like...

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I think by scary they mean hard, the elites were always much harder to deal with then the brutes were

This is not scary, this is hilarious, especially with their methane-induced squeaky voices running away for help.

Killing them is satisfying though, especially when confetti burst from their heads and children cheer.

Making the Covenant scary will be a lost cause if the game will include Grunts. Plus they have to make the Covenant pretty damn tough if they want to make them scary. Hell, one of your squadmates in Reach looks like this:

Now that's terrifying to meet in a dark alley.

Well there probably won't be flood in reach because it takes place before CE (which I'm all for because I thought the flood levels where the low point of the campaigns anyways) but I don't think they mean scary as in "this creature psychologically makes me perceive fear" I think they mean scary as in "oh crap this thing is going to fucking kill me"

This.
As far as enemies go I wouldn't have said they were scary. I believe the idea is to make them an enemy to be feared again. I that found Halo CE & Halo 2 the Legendary modes were punishing. Halo 3 kind of lost that challenge

Why is Ghost from Modern Warefare 2 in Halo:Reach?

Anyway, I've never really taken any enemy in Halo seriously. Maybe the Hunters, but they do shoot lime green lasers at you in aqua coloured armour...and bleed luminous orange. Can't call that a deadly cool creature can you?

Hey, they werent ever meant to be scary... but i like this decision by bungie to make them more alien.

The only thing is that it is hard for them to be scary when they are clearly intelligent creatures with religion and an advanced society... theres nothing really primal about them like the Alien in Aliens. Thats what they are lacking... making Halo grittier would be nice... theres alot of potential there.

PS. Halo is a fun game. Its a FPS and a damn good one, if you like FPS's and think Halo sucks im guessing you dont have an xbox :D why not just say Half-Life sucks? Why because you sound like an idiot. Any serious FPSer cant hate Halo... you dont have to think its the greatest thing since sliced bread but seriously its pathetic to hate something just because its popular. I mean edgy... its "edgy" to hate something popular.

You all have to admit, the very first time you played Halo: CE, at the very beginning, you were scared. Even if it was just a little. You had no idea wtf to do and you had no weapon and shit was blowing up all around you.

You were scared. It's okay to admit it.

I look forward to them being able to do that again.

I'm with the "What do you mean 'again'?" crowd on this. The Flood were the closest thing the Halo series had to a scary bit.
