Personally, I love Halo Reach, I think that it is one of the best Halo games to date and is worthy of being Bungie's swan song. So how come ever time I go to the Reach Forums on Bungie.Net I get a bunch of people whining about how it's the worst Halo game ever and that Halo 3 was 1000 times better? Seriously I could not be more lost here, please point me in the right direction.

Its the Bungie Forums, they complain if one pixel is moved to the right too much.

I find Halo: Reach Amazing, unfortunatly it and the rest of the franchise get a bad rap here due to it being popular and "milked" and not "changing at all".

Its quite sad really.

A lot of people love to ***** about Halo being "milked" or because it is copied for being a good FPS game.
And because it is popular.

Nothing wrong with ANY halo game (made by bungie and 343 of course).

In fact, its my favorite franchise up there with Half-life.

People who dislike Halo have different preferences, people who hate Halo ( i find) have trouble backing up their claims with valid arguments and logic.

And ironically, bungie forums are indeed....full of dick heads.

I agree with them. Reticle bloom sucks, and there was no reasoning behind it. The DMR is just... urg, no. I hate it. Way less weapons. Shittier environments/maps. That's all. But I respect your opinion, I'm just trying to show my reasoning.

Because people who hate something have more of a reason to talk about it than people who like it. This is true of every video game that has ever been released. This is true of every piece of creative media ever produced. This is true of most cereal boxes. It's something we just have to live with.

I disagree with you, but at least you're polite, more than I can say about every single person on the Reach forums, seriously try to say to one thing positive about the game on that site without them chanting lolreach or you're retarded.

Ain't that the truth. If I had a nickel for every time someone said that they hate Halo because "it's just another one of those brown FPSs."

Seriously? Halo is one of the most colorful games I've ever played. The environments are absolutely gorgeous, and the levels, enemies, vehicles, everything is vibrant.

I enjoy Halo Reach, but I also happen to think that it has some of the worst multiplayer that Bungie has ever made, so sadly I rarely play the game.

Reach did a lot of things right, the Campaign was good, Forge World is great, and firefight is fantastic, but there's a lot of things off with the multiplayer. One thing is the maps. There's just no really good maps in the multiplayer. In Halo 3 I could play the same 3 maps, Valhalla, Last Resort, and Highground all day and never get tired of them, but Halo Reach just doesn't have any maps which play that well. Another is the draw distance, which diminishes to about 30 feet when you're playing 4 player split screen (which is absolutely unacceptable). The last thing is the grenades being fucking mini-nukes. You can be killed by a single grenade if you're close enough to it and that's just wrong in a game where you don't even regen health.

Halo 3 was my go to game for playing with friends. My roommates and I played it for hours, a couple of times a week the entire time from its release to the release of Reach. We never play Reach though because of the terrible design decisions that went into its multiplayer.

Because the people that do enjoy the game are still playing it, or got their fill of it to satisfaction and don't go to the forums to ***** about it.

I absolutely refuse to like a Halo game until they bring back the hilarious physics from Halo 1, when you ran 2 Warthogs into each other there was an 80% chance that one of you would go flying 30 feet into the air, hilarious multiplayer bumper car matches ensued

IDK, the Warthog physics in Halo Reach are pretty hilarious. 80% of the time you hit even the smallest bump on a map the warthog is liable to go flying into the air 30 feet. It's like the tires are full of helium.

Personally i found halo Reach particularly shallow.

Now i think it was a ok game but i don't think it was for me what Halo is, Reach became the point where the franchises Multiplayer eclipsed its single player and it was glaringly obvious.

As a game reach had nothing valuable to say it was just putting in place a multiplayer platform with a long life, i don't hate it but its not my Halo.

True, but it lacks the empty void of Halo 1 Blood Gulch, absolutely perfect for crazy charges and careful lineups to hit the enemy car

I loved Halo: Reach... multiplayer. The campaign was pretty meh. Fun, but it just felt like Halo 3 except dialed back a bit. I guess I got my hopes up because ODST's campaign was actually a change in the formula, and the marketing for Reach suggested some type of squad mechanics, but... Ahhh well. Single player is good, Multiplayer is fantastic. Especially because of Forge. And the jetpack.

I did like that last level a lot.

Because a lot of the people till have raging boners about Halo 2, which is far from what Halo: Reach is.
My friend who loves the Halo series a lot, still likes Halo 2 the most, and doesn't like Reach that much at all. I am the reverse, I love Reach the most, the only multiplayer I have actually tried and gotten a LOT of progress in.
For me, Halo goes:
Reach > 3 > 1 > ODST > 2 > Wars.
3 will probably be the most anticipated and hyped up game until Diablo 3 comes out, and it was hella fun.
1 started it all, and has one of the only campaigns I go back and play for shits and giggles, because the campaign is actually really fun.
ODST is a Halo game without Master Chief, and it is fucking awesome. The atmosphere, the story, the "I am not an invincible Spartan, but still pretty badass", and the introduction of Firefight, are all really awesome.
2 has a really irritating campaign, and the flood levels are hard as fuck. The multiplayer had some of the most dedicated and competitive fans of any gaming series ever, and people I know that like Halo, still miss it.
Wars is a failed attempt to make a Halo RTS. The story is alright, but the balancing is off, the missions easy to exploit, and the controls are just really irritating to use. If it came out on computer, it would have done a lot better.

No reasoning for reticle bloom? you have obviously never fired an automatic wepon, its to simulate the effect recoil has on your accuracy which is to say it makes your accuracy turn to crap.
DMR is subjective to personal preference, i loved it, you hate it...
This is a prequel to halo CE,and is also set in one battle, it stands to reason that you would encounter less weapons.
The maps and environments are both better detailed and more realistic in their style, this is convey a more serious tone as halo reach is supposed to be a darker more serious story.
Your arguments are unfounded.

The reasoning is that Master Chief had no reticule bloom because he was a Spartan II. He is essentially able to entirely cancel out the inaccuracy caused by kickbacks. The spartans in Reach do not have all the same abilities and strength as the Spartan IIs, thus, they are less able to cancel out that loss of accuracy. So it has a perfectly good explanation. Plus, sorry if you don't like it, but reticle bloom is more preference than anything else; it's hardly a universally bad gameplay design principle.

OT: I think Reach is the second-best campaign in the series and the best multiplayer by far. The atmosphere was perfect, the level design was good, the music was (as always) incredible, and the epilogue was the pinnacle of the series' storytelling. The first is still my favorite, but Reach was amazing. And I feel the multiplayer is unusually well-coded and, with the exception of armor lock, exceptionally well-balanced; I very rarely feel cheated like I often do in Gears of War or Call of Duty.

Halo 3, on the other hand, had the most lackluster campaign design, graphic design, and multiplayer of the whole series. I love it anyway; I love the entire series. But I don't understand how anyone could claim that Halo 3 is superior to Reach.
