How would you renovate the halo shooter, make it RPG? new main character? or have a game completely based around the enemy?

I would say that I've made an entirely new game, then just repackage Combat Evolved with a different name, like A.I.D.A., or E.S.T.O.

Or O.D.S.T.

Wait...

Either that or I would include Dave Chappelle as a sidekick.

I wouldn't change it. I honestly want Reach to be the last game and I want it to be fantastic.

Halo Wars was a nice change but for me it never inspired the same feeling as the other games.

If Bungie stop making Halo and just continue the story in the novels then I'll be happy. Especially as it will give the halo-haters - who are as bad as the halo fanboys in their vehement dislike of the series - nothing more to talk about.

That being said, I still wouldn't mind Halo:CE redone with the Reach game engine.

Personally I never saw any problem with the Halo games of the past, each one is fun and great to go back to.

However the one thing I would change is in Halo: Combat Evolved, I would have the Arbiter (prior to his becoming an Arbiter) a prominently featured antagonist so that his transition from foe to friend is completed through the course of the trilogy.

Stealth based FPS/TPS as an Arbiter.
A proper team-based FPS game which actually involves squad commands rather than what we got in ODST.
Hack 'n' Slash God of War style as a Brute wielding a gravity hammer.
Space-based RTS a la Homeworld.

Halo as a JRPG where the the Master Chief's 14 year old sister with D size tits cries all the time because he doesn't want to f*** her. Okay fine... that was mean.

A Halo dating sim with a harem ending.... STOP JUDGING ME.

make it like RSV and RSV2 y'know take cover a couple of shots and your dead type of thing but you play as a marine or something.

or one that does the background story but is not linked with the chief.

Nothing, it's perfect the way it is.

Halo:Chess is something I'm more interested in though.

Halo: ODST should have been the change Halo needed. I was expecting a sneaking, overwhelming odds game, one that made you feel more human, i.e a couple of shots and your dead. Instead what I got was Halo 3 with a slight makeover.

Maybe they could do that if they make a remake. It's a pretty cool idea. To develop that point it would be cool to have some Covanent v Flood and Covanent v Sentinals levels. Maybe where they discover the Flood? If they do that though you can't really do the scene where Master Cheif looks at the video from the marine helmet.

I hope that they bring his previous form into reach. It would really jump the story.

Halo Bollywood version, that April fools joke really got me thinking. You fight the covenant by having a dance off with them, it would be another use for Natal and give the hardcore Halo fans some well needed excercise too.

Not another ODST.
I'm not a Halo fanboy; I think the Halo trilogy is ok/average, that does not make me a hater either.
That said, as others have said, ODST was a wasted opportunity to change the style of play in the Halo Universe. I'd also like to add I felt the characters were flat

I think Halo already got stale after the first game. I like sequels and stuff, but Halo 2 was nothing special in no way whatsoever. Same goes with Halo 3, it was okay but not great and certainly not deserving of all the huge scores.

Ofcourse same can be said of a lot of modern games. Seriously, is Modern Warfare 2 deserving as one of the best and highest rated shooters ever?

As for the direction of the Halo series. I don't really know. ODST wasn't brilliant, but it did try something (a bit) different for the series and I can appreciate that.

'Perfect' isn't the words i would use but it's fine as it is, like how God of War dosn't need changing

Pretty much this.

I gave up on the series after buying 3 and not really enjoying it much.

It's a problem with FPS' in general.
