I just now realized that my computer has been saving all of my data and information on the harddrive that is dedicated to my OS... Any suggestions on how to move the data to the dedicated data harddrive while still keeping the OS?

I dont wanna come off rude but have you just tried to Copy+Paste it to the other HDD?

If the hard drive is dead, your only option is to either try and salvage it yourself or send it away but it'll cost ALOT of money and only worth it if it was very vital data.

Could you tell me how you know your computer is doing this? I'm looking for reasons as to why my computer is freezing solid so regularly.

When you download something is it saved to your download folder or straight to a program folder or both places at once?(I'm pulling this question out of my ass because I don't understand how your situation would happen)

He may also be referring to software installations. IE C:\Program Files. If this is the case, simply cutting/pasting with NOT work, it will make the program stop working. If THIS is what you are referring to, then you must UNINSTALL the program, then REINSTALL it to the other hard drive. If you play games as most of us do, general consensus is that if you have 2 hard drives, you put your games on the hard drive that ISN'T your OS or C: drive. All software for Windows, including games, have a DEFAULT install directory of C:\Program Files. You have to choose custom or advanced installation options to change the installation destination to a different hard drive or directory.

Your browser should tell you that. To find the download directory of your files you do the following:

Firefox:
On the toolbar click on Tools->Options, under the 'General' tab you will find a section called downloads, it will tell you the directory for all your downloads

Google Chrome:
Click the settings button, then Options. You will find the download path in the 'Under the Bonnet' tab.

Internet Explorer:
Will ask you everytime for a download path, unless you hit 'Open' on the download box, it will be stored in your Temp folder in which case will probably be deleted by now.

Or on firefox/chrome you can simply right click recently downloaded files and click Show in folder.

In some rare cases maybe, the only problem would be registry files, which when the program runs again would just overwrite them. I did this pretty recently actually with Steam, I didnt want to redownload all my games so I just transferred it all to a new HDD and I ran steam once and it was fine. (if you do this shortcuts wont work, only the executeable files found in the application's folder)
