Hardest Game(s) You've Played?

I've got a tie for my Hardest Game. It's a tie between Demon's Souls and Resonance of Fate.

Demon's Souls is just brutal and unforgiving and Resonance of Fate will willingly put you up against something in which there's no possible way for you to defeat it until you've trained until your eye sockets bleed.

Ninja Gaiden 2 on the hardest difficulty, kicked my ass so hard... I have yet to finish it

Basically every shmup I've ever played. Of particular note was Sin And Punishment: Star Successor on hard mode, which was one of the most stressful experiences I've ever had. I sold the game about a month after buying it, because it was just so fucking taxing on my reflexes.


EDIT: I just realized the real one. GUITAR HERO FUCKING THREE. I refuse to believe that "One", "Raining Blood" and the final boss battle are possible by anyone who has ever spent any amount of time doing anything not Guitar Hero.

It's not hard to do it the "wrong way" (skidding your way to victory!) but actually running is QUITE challenging.

The Void - partly difficult because of less than great design mechanics, but also very difficult in terms of game play and strategy.

well..for me the hardest games I have ever played were on my original nes...Deadly towers..I still cant beat that game..and probally the hardest game ever made...Ghost's and Goblins..if u don't know what that game is..look it up..download a nes emulator and try it..brutal..is not even a good work to describe that game..

Fallout 2, and I enjoyed every moment of it.
It's the opposite of its predecessor, it's damn difficult and it gives you no hints whatsoever.
Humor is top notch, I'm glad New Vegas had the same atmosphere, it felt more nostalgic to play rather than Fallout 3... Daddy issues (with a water chip).

Even though it might be more annoying than hard, some of the levels are a true pain in the ass trying to complete.

I beat every level in N+ on the DS. Every single level, including the classic levels from the original N that you can unlock with a special code. God fucking dammit, that game was difficult.

Also, Guitar Hero 3: I completed every regular song (not bonus songs) on Expert, except for that last motherfucking boss battle against Lou. I know there's a really easy way to beat him, but that requires a LOT of luck and being able to hit a really difficult Star Power pattern. Otherwise, "Raining Blood", "One", "Cliffs of Dover", they weren't all that hard to beat. 5-starring, though, that's another story, since "Cliffs" is the only one of those three I did it for.

Lol, I'm playing Resonance of fate right now and I know what you mean. But I would say FFX because I didn't grind as much as I should have. I say this because I remember screaming my head off every time I lost against Seymour(I think that was his name).
