What was it? And about how long did it take? (by Blind, I mean no walkthroughs or, overall help)

For me it was Zelda II. It took about a month and a half, but I was proud of myself when I got it done. (I spent days trying to find the mirror WHICH WAS UNDER A FREAKIN TABLE)

I don't think I've ever played a game that would be considered hard without help. I tend to play games for their story more so than their gameplay, and if I get stuck for too long, it loses it's appeal. I'm also not too good at games, when I was a kid probably the only game I beat without help or cheats (I think, I know I eventually cheated on it, but maybe not on the first play through) was pokemon yellow. I'm not really a very good gamer.

Well, does Ikaruga count? Took me a week to beat it.

If not, Hitman Blood Money took me two weeks to beat on Pro difficulty, trying to get the Silent Assassin rating on all missions.

I got really confused at first. I thought you meant that you beat the game with your eyes closed.

Probably Demon Souls. Though Persona 3 Fes tripped me up abit with its social links juggling and completing all the requests, plus no real mention that you shouldnt screw with the Reaper besides experience doing it.

X-Com, totally stumbled onto the Mars mission. That game could be unforgiving.

Honorable mention to Ogre Battle for snes, just because playing it blind, you miss ALOT. No concept of how leveling up classes work, alignment, reputation, etc... Hell I didn't even have the instruction book.

This brings up a good point btw, older games always seemed harder to me due to the lack of resources when you got stuck. It took me months to beat Secret of Mana, I never realized how to "get" the mana sword.

I don't use guides for playthroughs, so probably Ninja Gaiden II. Really, guides are not necessary for beating a game just finding all the little collectibles.

God did Demon's Souls take forever. I don't remember how long it took exactly in game play hours, but it took me over three months.

I don't remember. When I do manage to beat a game without help I don't take note of it. I'd much rather use a guide once or twice instead of getting pissed off and breaking something.

IWBTG. Too long.

I'd say ADOM, but I had to use spoilers for that, I'm afraid.

Oh, and then there's Perfect Cherry Blossom (Phantasm Stage). Blind, one stage, took me a few weeks. Seen below.

Skip to the second one if you just want a (partially cut) ludicrous boss fight.

Thanks for that little reminder. I've done much the same (With UFO Defense and Apocalypse). Vicious games.

Edit: Touhou Labyrinth's another one. Think Etrian Odessey 2, only with more evil.
