Who remembers playing it? I think, wincing to put other games aside, it might be my favorite game.

It was a farming RPG (which, in honesty, sounds like the most stupid idea I've ever heard, but guess what) in which you... well, I won't explain the plot, because:

1. I don't doubt you know the franchise, or Natsume

2. At its core, it's the same EXACT f***ing plot of every HM game made.

Anyway, I still don't tired of playing it.

PS. Did anyone ever marry Maria?

Agreed, it ate up so much of my time. It sounds retarded on paper, but it was actually really fun.

Oh-ho-ho yeah. This was my first Harvest Moon game, and it made me fall in love with K... er... with the series. I remember, when I first read about it and it sounded fun, I looked around for it, but it was already off the shelves at the big stores. It wasn't until a while later I found it while rummaging around at a vintage game store.

I still play that game from time to time, even while I've got save files on the new ones.

P.S. Yes I did, in one of my play-throughs, but my first pick was K... er... nevermind. ^_^;

Same here. Although I haven't got my copy anymore.
It had me hooked there for a while :p

It's one of the reasons I still have every game console I've ever owned... and aside from the 360, they all still work.

I succumb to the truth of having a crush on Ann.

I do too. 'Island of Happiness' made me laugh, though. It was like, seriously? Are you not even TRYing to shake it up a little?

I use to be addicted to Back To Nature (the PS1 version). Simulators done right are impossibly addictive, no matter how stupid it sounds on paper.

The only one I really didn't like was "A Wonderful Life," since that's the only one that really places you in a limited time frame. It's pretty contrary to the freedom of the series. And only three love interests.

Granted, I haven't played the PS1 version, and still haven't checked out Island of Happiness, but that one sounds interesting. So far, I think my favorite has been Harvest Moon DS, but 64 comes in at a close second.

She was my first. But I originally got her in Harvest Moon SNES as well. History repeating I suppose.

I once did the 'perfect HM64 playthrough' with help from a guide. Which had all the photos, events, girls with pink hearts etc. Bascially the optimal ending.

My memory may be a bit fuzzy, but didn't 64 have a limit of 3 in-game years?

I guess mine might be a little fuzzy too... ^_^;

Still, at least it doesn't order you what to do during those three in-game years. HM:AWL actually ended the game if you didn't get married by the end of the first year.

if you satisfy your dad, which is getting married and having all home upgrades I think, you'll get to play for as long as you want past 3 years, there's even a few events that only happen after that.

HM64 was the best game ever conceived, but the only one I tried since then was one for the gamecube, which required a fuckin ds game to go with it to play to full game. That completely ruined my taste for it and I haven't played a new HM game since. But 64 is awesome.

You can play after your dad comes back, regardless of how well you did. But a bad ending doesn't really give you a good taste in your mouth to continue that file.

I remember when my friend got that game and we took shifts playing and sleeping in a basement for an entire week. Good times.

THE HEART TURNED PINK! HOLY SHIT THE HEART TURNED PINK! Anybody?
