I live in a farely small city and at my high school there is a large amount of openly bisexual people. some of the people are good freinds of mine however I just cant shake the feeling that this is some sort of trend. Opinions?

Edit sorry about this being in gaming discussion ill try to get it moved

...Or maybe increased acceptance of non-traditional sexualities is allowing more bisexual people to come out of the closet without fear of persecution.

You should write your congressman to have the city's water supply checked out. If it's ok, then you should totally take advantage of this phenomenon.

PM a mod to move this thread. Next, I've seen it become a sort of trend as well. Mainly with girls and some of the emo guys. I'm kind of wondering where it all came from.

I've met plenty of people who claim to be bisexual, but I doubt many of them would actually go through with any sexual relation with members of their own sex.

Well, I'm bisexual and it's not because of any trend.
I just want to have sex with pretty men and women.

Selfish, I know. But I'm a teen, I move onto the love part later.

Well, according to (flips through media textbook) Terisa de Laruretis - founder of the "Queer Theory" - people aren't really limited to a static sexuality. Building on de Laruretis's assumptions - because it's more acceptable for people to be bisexual now than it was, say fifty years ago, we're seeing a lot more people who are open to being outside of the homo and heterosexual categories.

How do I feel about it? Good, I guess. No point repressing how people feel.

Cool the world's first bisexual themed game, is that on the wii?

Okay in all seriousness Bisexuality and homosexuality are not in any larger number it's just that because of our more accepting society more people can admit to being gay or bi and do so more freely.

That'd be so much funnier coming from a woman. "It's okay ladies, I'm bisexual."

I love playing with context.

Same here, especially at my old school. I think its just to get attention, I doubt they actually are bisexual. That would really fit with most people I've seen in the 'emo' trend, they'll do most anything for attention.

I think it's more of a trend, for one sex to feign bisexuality so the other sex will find them more appealing. (Because girl on girl is hawt.)

Not that all of them are like this but i'm sure at least some of them are.

i knew a girl who said she was a bisexual, so she could get attention.

one thing i hated about her was the fact that she thought she was a bisexual, in a monogamous relationship. you are not bisexual if you are in a monogamous relationship, because while your monogamous, your having sex with one sex. eather gay or straight.

a friend of mine is female and she claims that most bisexual people are just gay people who claim to be "bisexual" so people won't make fun of them completely.

Yep, my opinion is that it's a trend. That being said it doesn't mean that there are no people who are truly bisexual but in high school i think it is just the cool thing right now, and at mine there are very few girls who don't claim to be bisexual

eh Let them live there lives. Some people we'll feel that it is wrong but those people are just ingorant. I live in Massachussets and since it is one of the few states to legalize gay marriage you see a lot of people who are Bi and gay.
