I'm certain there have been some.

I can't think of any though.

I don't believe so because most of the time the only movies that are straight to DVD are the ones that are unnecessary sequels and prequels which have been rushed out and didn't have a budget for a big theater production.

Stargate Continuum. I loved that one. And I liked the new Green Lantern animated film. Straight to DVD doesn't necessarily mean bad. It costs SO MUCH to put a movie in theatres and promote it. Sometimes DVD movies are cheaper to produce.

Superman Batman: Public Enemies

...i picked it up on a whim at Toys R Us (while looking for a Blue Beetle action figure)...turned out to be pretty damn good imo...

(off topic) why Toys R Us had less DC action figures than Target, I'll never know....

A lot of the Marvel and DC straight-to-dvd animated flikcs are really good. Among themL

Hulk Vs double Feature (Featuring Hulk vs Thor and Hulk vs Wolverine, which has the first animated appearance of Deadpool ever!)
Planet Hulk
Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths

I stole this from moviebob, but it's true:

Ginger Snaps

Not "great" by any stretch, but they're not bad at all, in my opinion. The sequel is pretty good as well if you like horror films.
