So, the music building (Pottle) is supposedly haunted at my school. The rumor is that if you stay in the practice rooms around 1 A.M. you'll see this black figure run across the hallway multiple times, and hear the footsteps. I've actually had this happen while I was in Pottle listening to a friend. So, I want to know if your college/school has any haunted building

It's possible that you were imagining it, a trick of the mind due to the fact you believed it would happen.

My school was haunting, though. Does that count?

Every college claims some such place on campus is haunted. Ours it was, I believe, the science building. People claimed a ghost was scaring them off. Though I'm fairly certain it was an old man dressed up in a costume trying to buy the building for cheap so he could dig up the aztec gold buried underneath.

or something...

If you are sure you didn't imagine it, it could have been a recording. I mean, it wouldn't be too hard playing it from somewhere.

and he would have got away with it too if it hadn't been for those pesky kids?

It could've..except the way the building is designed when my friend went to go chase it down we would've easily been able to see the person

According to a certain History teacher of mine, the southern most block at our school is haunted by a ghost called Herman.
All he does is slam the door, very bloody loudly.

My HS has some pretty interesting one. See, I was sitting around on the 2nd floor one fine day, when lo behold, a figure flew down past the window just outside. After screaming like a girl, I found out it was a bunch of students doing a climbing exercise outside for P.E.

And once at my college, a bunch of us were really exhausted after working until well past midnight in a computer lab. Then suddenly, the computer started typing by itself, responding to our conversation in part English, part jibberish. Turned out it was the voice recognition function acting up. But damn, it was creepy as hell, since it was just English enough to pertain to our conversation, but clearly not what any of us had said. (It probably combined a lot of our responses to each other together)

Here is the wikipedia entry for one of the dorms at my school:
The Ghost of 1201 Bruce Hall. Many students and university employees, as well as various outside sources, believe that a ghost or two haunts the 1201 suite of Bruce. The owner of the Schenley Apartments once lived with his family on the twelfth floor. Rumor has it that his mistress and/or wife committed suicide in the 1201 by either hanging herself or throwing herself out the window. Students have reported hearing footsteps in the stairwells and the halls, as well as a woman's voice. Others have heard stories of the elevators not stopping on their floor, and continuing up to the twelfth floor and refusing to go back down[10]. Traditionally referred to as "Harriet," the ghost has only been known to visit the 12th floor, the 11th floor, and suite 8A on the 8th floor, where she is said to have lived.
When I was in school, my girlfriend at the time lived in that building and I actually had the elevator thing happen to me where it skipped her floor and went up to 12 and wouldn't go back down for a while. I'm not saying it was necessarily caused by a ghost, but it was definitely creepy.

i wish mine was haunted. maybe after the construction work, there'll be a tragic accident involving one of the builders, causing him to rest eternally in the foundations...

The "Sterilized Packaging dept" at this hospital I worked at had a ghost. He's just make noises and generally annoy you. The cool part was if you were stressed and yelled at him "Not tonight, for fucks sake I am busy" he would in fact leave you alone.

Very considerate ghost.
