I read this, and I thought that it would be something you all would enjoy too. Whatever your politics, I think we can all agree with this bit of satire.

The Onion said:
WASHINGTON?Smiling as they imagined dozens of flustered, shouting GOP operatives frantically strategizing ways to get a hold on their political party, citizens nationwide took a brief moment Wednesday to stop and really savor the thought of what the Republican National Committee headquarters must look like right now, sources confirmed. ?Oh, man, just think of all the panicked meetings that are happening as we speak, and all the party officials who are probably clutching at their aching heads as they field irate phone calls from major donors?it?s so great,? said Tucson, AZ resident Melanie Berkley, just one of hundreds of millions of beaming citizens who reported feeling an intense sense of delight when picturing a conference room full of sleep-deprived campaign consultants yelling over one another about which candidate needs to drop out and when in order for the 162-year-old political party to remain intact. ?You know there?s got to be at least one angry executive chewing everyone out about Marco Rubio losing Virginia right now, and probably a whole table of officials shooting each other terrified looks after someone angrily asks ?Well, what do we do now?? God, it?s such a wonderful thought. It really is a nice pick-me-up.? Berkley later reported that her reverie had been completely ruined by the thought of how smug everyone at the DNC headquarters must be right now.

What are all of you doing to stay sane if you're in the USA? I have a friend who is eating a lot of pizza, but I don't think that's the best strategy. Does anyone have any funny stuff concerning the election?

The purpose of a national government is to present a democratic facade to the population - to enable them to feel engaged in the political process and to thus remain disengaged with any real political change. The "problem" is that over the years the population has come to understand this, and the more the population understands the less actual value the government has. At some point the population may simply get rid of the middle man - so the "breakup" of the Republican Party may be less meaningful than many people think.

Since corporate lobbyists already write legislation, there's little difference whether it passes through the propaganda filter of Congress or it doesn't. The old argument of "Well, the people wouldn't accept legislation if it comes directly from concentrated capital" is merely based on the willingness of the population to maintain the democratic facade.

In this day and age, that willingness may be done, which leaves us with a choice of direct (rather than mediated) domination by concentrated capital or revolution.

Eating pizza is the best strategy. If Trump wins, the cholesterol will help explode my heart.

Comedy is so subjective. Myself, I find the fact that one of the biggest satirical brands in the US has had controlling interest purchased by a company co-owned by one of Hillary Clinton's biggest supporters and evidently closer friend during an election year to be hilarious. Between that and Trump running, I'm actually convinced that 2016's election is one giant satire, and when November rolls around, all parties involved will turn to the camera and say "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!"

Well, this popped up in my subcription feed a few days ago:

It's stuff like this that makes me love the TF2 animation community.

Hell, I'd vote for Soldier over Trump.

Soldier 2016: "No Ghosts."

I'm hoping Trump is actually a plant by some group who hates Free Speech and is trying to prove a point or something.

If it is, I think it's backfiring.
