Have horror films realistic context?

i'am watching BABADOOK right now. This is first really scare film for me.
But if get it as fiction then it isn't so scare.
So question. is in scare film context? ) Sorry if it childish question

No, ghosts aren't real. Nor are daemons, monsters, spirits, wraiths or aliens.

Likewise the Purge could never happen, and there aren't societies of rich people who pay millions to torture white American chicks.

And Japan isn't filled with spooky, wet-haired girls with nothing better to do than chase Buffy Summers around.

But you know what IS real? Melissa McCarthy. She's real, and her comedy is ear torture. Never watch one of her movies alone. Always have backup.
