I have. I accidentally dropped my hat into the deep fryer at Burger King, and I acidentally knocked over a row of shelves at Wal-Mart. So, I want to Know, have you ever been fired? and if yes, what for?

Nope.

But I did left my last job because I didn't re-register in time. But I plan on going back there.

I have. I stabbed a customer in the hand with my knife after he grabbed me a few times. The stupid bouncers sat on their lazy asses and did nothing while this guy grabbed me.

Does it count as "being fired" if the store you work at is closed down or bought out by another corporation? If so it's happened to me twice

Tell me, OP, after that hat-incident, did you attempt to taste it in any way?
Your answer could determine whether you're my new hero or not.

And, alas, I have never had a job. I know of a fellow who was fired, however, for stealing from the register.

Apparently companies don't like it when you do that.

and if you can't tell, that was a joke.
The bolded, last part, I mean.

During my 3rd year of Uni I was supposed to start working in the Student Union bar, I showed up late to the first shift (because I was told the wrong time) and the first morning meeting (because I'd been drinking the night before). So yeah, lost that job, but I don't think my employment was actually finalized at any point. I walked across the road and got a job by the next day, so all was well.

I recently quit a different job though, because the management were being almost criminally unfair to the staff. That was an empowering experience.

I once yelled at a customer for slowing down my line as a cashier. I wasn't so much fired as not requested to return next season. It was at an apple farm.

Yup. My boss was a psychotic workaholic twit who once called me in to work during a state-of-emergency snowstorm (I sprained my ankle getting there, and wasn't allowed to leave to get medical attention) I dared check my email during lulls in my work. Off with my head. Never so glad to get fired in my life.

No, but I woul have lost my job as a volunter bartender at the univesitybar if I hadn't quit. Due to homework, friends, games and regular work I couldn't fit volunter work into it.

Nope. Mainly due to the fact that I've never had a job. Although my school are paying me under a special program to teach math to younglings. I haven't been fired from that though. It only lasts for another 12 weeks or so.

Fired, no. Made redundant because the boss was a shady twat whose son needed a job, yes.

I lost another job when the company was forced to drop all fixed-term contracts for financial reasons - it was the best job I ever had and they were as sorry to lose me as I was to be going. If they were in a position to offer me another job tomorrow, I'd drop university and accept it without a second thought.

I actually just lost my job. I generally get called during the evening or early morning to work. Well after having words with my boss he waited a couple of months and removed my name from the call list without telling me. So I go a few weeks without getting called and have to contact the service, then go to the school itself and finally make the guy admit that he fired me and didn't have the stones to tell me.

Yes. There was a change of mangement at my old restaurant job and the new manager started firing all of the old manager's favorite people on BS reasons ie: late by five minutes, was being too loud, bad attitude. My reason was I was talking in the back with another co-worker and the manager heard me cuss, and fired me cause I was creating a negative work environment.

Oh yes, twice. First time the reason was just that there were not enough work to go around, and the second was that I was not effective enough at assembling boats. It may have had something to do with the extreme problems I had with allergies due to all the dust and glue-vapours in the place....

Seems like breathing is a secondary priority. xD
