I tear up whenever someone looses there dog in the movie. I can't help myself.
You must have teared up bad in "I am Legend". I'm kinda like that aswell but for me it can be anything they have a close personal relationship with.

at the end of iron man, it was one of the first films i ever saw. Also, the Black Hawk Down scene where the soldier is coming out of the doorway, slips and the kid shoots his dad, that almost made me cry but not quite. Bambi (again, one of the first films i saw). I'm sure there are a couple of others, but nothing recent as done it.

Last book I remember affecting me so much would have been Terry Practchett's Jingo -
Seconded multiple times. The universe-displaced organizer going through the names was a moment of horryfying realization for me, just as it was for Vimes.

I often find myself both cursing and thanking Pratchett at the end of his books - on several cases I think 'Of God you did not just do that! Damn You Pratchett for doing that to him/her/it!' only to read a few more paragraphs and think, tears in my eyes, 'Damn you Pratchett for doing this to me. You did write a happy ending for this after all....'

When I was a small child I cried at the end of Pokemon the movie 1 when Ash was frozen somehow since it was the closest thing to death I had ever seen. Also the end of the Scrubs series came close but being older taught me that punching myself helps stop crying.

The only media that has the potential to immerse me that much are games.
The first one was Final Fantasy X, becvause the ending is really sad and reminded me of something similar (as similar as it gets with a final fantasy game anyway)that happended to me. Just a tear but it had quit an impact.
The second one was shadow of the collosus, first because it was finished, which is terrible all by it self and second because the nihilistic storytelling is very effectiv.

The ending is the second and very interactive citscene in the game and gives you the context of everything that you had done.
