I'm normally a pretty mild mannered guy. I don't like confrontation or to make a fuss but often, given the opportunity, stuff will just boil up inside me to the point it all comes explosively pouring out. I've been thinking about it tonight and wondered how common it is for other mild mannered people. I know it's part of human nature but there are complete stress heads that do it almost constantly. I'm talking about the occasional thing.

Anyone else have this happen to them? Feel free to include stories and/or examples.

Generally I'm fine but I remember one day I had been awake all night as it was my birthday and friends stayed over, my brother who I normally get on with was having a good laugh annoying me in front my friends in the morning, by proding me in the head while I was spread out on the couch. He's older than me so hitting him with my fists wouldnt really cut it so I went for the closest metal object... which was a fire poker :|

Thankfuly nothing happened as he said in a really calm voice "Do you really want to do that?" and I realised I didnt, he said sorry for being a dick and it all calmed down then. We laugh about it now but I'm still haunted by what could have happened in a split second of blinding rage...

I was at the gun range a couple weeks ago. I was off the firing line, reloading a couple magazines before i went back to shoot.

Couple booths down, this kid and his dad showed up to shoot. The dad was loading a rifle, while the kid "played" with a Glock. His dad told him to put it down. He said "its ok, i know its unloaded" and then pulled the trigger, with the gun aimed down the line at me. Round in the chamber, bang, 9mm bullet racing down range at me. Struck a post about 2 feet from me.

Once i was actually able to get up, i ran over there and SCREAMED my head off at this kid, and his father for being so absolutely careless, for being so stupid and so on. His only words to me were "chill out *****, it was an accident".

By that point, the Range Officer had come over and was yelling at both of them, and then proceeded to ban them both for life from the range.

i think its the only time, i was so angry i couldnt actually see straight.

Yes, I was doing some basic shopping and put my dog on it's leash in the little marked area to chain them to, when I get back I see these two guys hitting him with a stick. I totally lost it, knocked them down and started banging the guys head against the concrete

I got bullied alot in highschool. Most of the time i sucked it up and didn't care. One day i was playing music in the computer lab(everyone daoes it. but i was playing death metal and they hated it) The computer i was one was separated by a sliding door. but the power cord went through that door. Now i was just minding my own business(maybe trolling them with my music because they hated it and they hated me) doing a powerpoint. Next thing i know the computer is off with no power. I open the screen door and yell at the guy who i know did it. The sub comes to try and stop me but i give him a look and he is like "Im not messing with this guy you are on your own." I yell a bit and go right back to work.

I can't think of anything right know I don't know if this has ever happened. If I remember something I'll be sure to edit this post.

this made me lol, although it's a little less funny because you could have been injured or dead.

pretty sure its the most unfunny thing ive ever experienced. He disobeyed all of the safe gun handling laws and he acted as if it was just something stupid that happened. On top of that, a chest shot with a 9mm hollowpoint is devestating to the human body, 90% chance id have been dead if it hit me.

Holy shit, just reading that made me grit my teeth. I shall now fantasize about beating that kid's head in with the stock of a rifle for the next five minutes. Feel free to join in, and/or provide a description of the kid, it will help with the fantasizing.

OT: I am a quiet little mouse who flinches at excessive amounts of harsh language. I'm not a violent guy, though I sure would like to be sometimes. The closest I ever came to 'losing it' was in high school when someone knocked my book out of my hands, and I punched them in the chin. It didn't really hurt them at all, and I sulked for a while before getting over it.

It wasn't the situation that was funny just the response and how moronic of a response it was.
I wouldn't go to a gun range anyway, guns are dangerous. There aren't gun ranges in the UK.

It only happens very rarely. It's been about 2 years since I've properly lost my temper.

The only notable instance was back in school. Some annoying little prick kept kicking me when I wasn't looking. After a couple of days I managed to see who was doing it, went completely berserk and kicked the living shit out of him. It took three of my friends to drag me away from him and I had to spend a good ten minutes of the lesson after break washing his blood off of my shoe.

guns arent dangerous, people are dangerous. Guns dont just go off for no reason, they go off because of negligent handling, and idioctic behaviour around them.

Very, very, very rarely. And only once did it actually explode outward towards someone. Thankfully, it was one of my best friends and he did it on purpose- I was going through a tough time and needed a good scream.

A few times. Its never ended well, and I can usually tell cause i white out rather then black out. the first time I painted a white tile wall with a kids head (though to be fair he was bigger then me and I had a very good reason), the second time I had threw a kid out a large window, completely scarred his back and arm (different kid, he was my age, very good reason), the third time I dented a car and broke a wall in a funeral viewing home (same kid, still very good reason), and the fourth time I almost killed the person (much older man, still very valid reason).

...

So yeah. normally I'm not like that, but if something pisses me off especially, I lose pretty much all conscious control of my actions.

I repress every feeling I have. I have blown up before, but I don't really remember all the details, I repress those memories as well. FML.

it was the fathers home defense gun. He was apparently teaching his son to use it, in case of emergencies. Apparently his father didnt cover not being an IDIOT with a gun.

I carry Hornady Critical Defense in .40S&W in my Glock 23. i put almost 500 rounds through it at the range before i decided it was reliable and suitable for my carry purpose.

I used to have a really short fuse, and once I started getting into high school it grew into a Celtic knot. I haven't gotten considerably angry at anyone for years, because I just don't like being that way, and I know the feeling when someone's yelling and swearing at you, and I don't want to make other people feel that.

Although I had a history of fighting and getting into trouble I once had a nervous breakdown in the middle of a class, it was when I was 15 I think so not too long ago, anyway it was detonated by noise by way too much noise in class, and I ended up attacking people over basically nothing and got out of class and fell asleep under a tree that was in the most remote area of the school, anyway I think the real reason for it was repressed feelings since that was the first time I cried since I was six, surprisingly after that although I felt ashamed because I cried in public and you know men don't cry and stuff, I felt surprisingly relieved and became uncharacteristically calm and mellow to this day I'm more of a relaxed person because of that. I also may add that I never saw a therapist because I have an irrational fear of psychologists and psychiatrists.

Jesus, your Gun Range lets you reload magazines off the line? I wish I could do that, ours makes us stand on the line whenever we're touching rounds or our weapons. Be nice to sit while loading magazines :\
