Have you ever left a movie theater midway through the movie?

It's one thing to stop a video on your computer, or even shut off a DVD. It takes a lot more to carry yourself out of a theater after driving there, paying for the movie, possibly buying food, and knowing that "I didn't like it" is not sufficient cause for a refund.

I have never left a theater before the movie ended. Have you?

Yes. Dragon Wars. Awful movie. I worked at the movie theater so I got in for free, and the movie wasn't even worth staying to make fun of.

wow... I remember the last one of these threads...
same answer as for that one though :)
It was a Godzilla Film (not the big movie), and it was in japanese with subs.
and it had Godzilla vs Rodan! I was enjoying it, but we left because we payed to see a movie and got Forced into that one. no choice.
so we walked out and into the one we payed for (nearly empty. the company said it was filled :| )

I've done this only once in my entire life.

It was this Norwegian movie about a kid going on an adventurous hunt for his ill granddad's kidney stones and I just up and left because it was fucking boring.

I didn't see it in the theater (thank god I didn't waste the money... I would have walked out) but I turned off 30 Days of Night about an hour in after it came on HBO. I'm a huge vampire fan (not sparkly vampires) and loved the graphic novel but the movie was just one long generic and predictable spook fest.

I don't recall ever leaving the theater because a movie is bad... if I'm going to drop 25 bucks on movie tickets, I'm usually already sure that I'm going to like the movie. Though, in retrospect I should have walked out of Terminator: Salvation, but I was there for my Dad's birthday. He hated it too.

Only once, and it was because a friend of mine became severely ill halfway through the movie.
I try not to see movies in theaters unless I'm fairly sure I will enjoy it.

10,000 BC... I've never ever walked out on a movie before ( or after ) this... I've sat through some terrible movies, I've bought some terrible movies... but I've never been forced out of my chair like I have with that pile of garbage

Never have, probably never will.

I don't see movies I don't know I'll like.

When I saw A.I., I was very young and that movie made me feel terrible. I couldn't go anywhere, so I had to sit and suffer.

More recently, about half the theater left during Bruno when... well, when things got graphic.

I went to see the movie zoolander with my mom and her friend who runs a daycare on my street,
i take it they just saw zoo in the title and thought it was about animals. we left at a scene where everyone was gettng naked cause that is generally not the thing you want a bunch of 6-10 year old kids to see.

I never did that because I don't have a chance because I go to the movies once every 5 years, and then to movies I'm sure that will be good.

I left during superbad. It's not that funny, I don't see why everyone orgasms simply at the mention of mclovin.

I was going to leave in the middle of dragonball, but it was totally worth staying in the end. Not because the movie got better, but because at the end, my friend doug threw up because it was so bad. Seriously. Also, i still don't get what all the hate behind the second transformers movie is all about.
