Hey guys! I am a big fan of VR and want to ask you, have you ever tried any VR game? Which one? What is your mind about it?

Back when I was 6, I tried a virtual reality game in the Pacific Science Center in Seattle, Washington. You controlled your movements and actions with a glove, and you could walk around a virtual city, climb up the stairs of a couple of buildings, and there were some hang-gliders on the roofs you could use to glide around.
Hahah the same feeling when i tried Euro truck simulator 2 with Oculus Rift. It helped me to ake my driving better in real life LOL. Want to try some horror game but do not know wich one to try :)

So you had some peripheral on your face the whole time? What was it like?

I can barely handle horror games without VR, I think I would have a heart attack if I got any more immersion.

I could have sworn the go-to example of Oculus Rift game was Outlast, so you should probably try that one.

I will tell you my impressions after i will try horror VR game :) Think it will be great))))

Yeah it was very strange, it looked kinda like a Virtual-Boy from the outside and it had a visor for the image rather than two eye-screens. I don't really remember much about it other than the fact that I couldn't pull off the glide other people were doing (you could see on another screen what people using it were seeing) where you pull up and get additional air time than if you just let it glide slowly down to the ground.

I also remember the same time I went there, something that I don't think was necessarily VR but it was similar, you would stand on this green-screen and it would project you onto a basketball court on a nearby screen; you also wore a glove in that one and you used it to dribble a virtual ball and try to shoot a hoop without getting the ball stolen by a virtual basketball player.

There was another thing set up, where you were in a sound stage with various musical instruments like a band would have; none of the instruments actually worked, but if you put on earphones you could hear a crowd cheering and the intruments would make the proper sounds through the headphones when you or other people played them.

I was 6 and I wasn't very good at any of this stuff, but I guess it took from the 90's until now for VR/AR to go from a scientific spectacle to become financially viable for mainstream commerce. Man it sure was great growing up in Seattle.
You have a good memory if you remember all of the details! Now you have a good chance to observe and compare the development of VR games! Next year will be really great, so many releases! Waiting so much! Want to try "Temple Run VR". I love the characters in this game!

Yeah, I've got an Oculus Rift, so I've tried a lot of stuff.

Some of it works, some of it doesn't. (The DK1 is very limited on a hardware level. And it also turns out to be tricky to get the required framerates on anything but the best hardware. One surefire way to get very sick rather quickly is to run something in VR at 20 fps... I mean, 35 or 40 fps will probably still make you feel sick, in actuality.)
It's an interesting experience.

The Oculus demos, the razer hydra one. Several small games, Euro Truck Simulator 2, Train simulator 2015 (that is some flaky, broken implementation they have though).
Team Fortress 2, and half-life 2.

It does a great job at making you feel like you're there, but the UI always gets to be a problem.
Especially in the games that weren't designed with VR in mind, but had it tacked on after.

Euro Truck's menus are unreadable on a DK1. Same for half-life 2. And pretty much every other game where it's an optional extra, I've found, so far.

I do note that lack of control, and lack of tactile feedback undermine the experience quite a bit.

In the Oculus demo, I always felt compelled to touch stuff. In the basic demo, I didn't even have hands, so I'd instinctively move my arm, and nothing at all would happen.
With the Razer hydra as well, things got a lot better. It was clunky, but I could pick up, and move things, and it was fairly natural and intuitive, and matched with what you instinctively would do in an environment that kinda tricks your brain into thinking you're actually in it, rather than just looking at it on a screen.

But, still, when you reach out to a wall, and feel... Nothing, the illusion does break a little.
So there's a long way to go yet, and much of it has to do with the sense of touch, rather than being able to see the world.

Nope. I am not so sure if I want to try out the Occultus Rift since the double image thing looks weird.
