Have you heard of VIZA?

So I went to see Gogol Bordello a couple of days ago in Minneapolis (and it was a great show, better then there show at Orion in my opinion) and the opening band was VIZA, a band I had never heard before. They ended up blowing me, and every one else, away. I immediately picked up both there cds and have been listening to them nonstop sense then.

I just wanted to see if anyone has heard of them and what you thought of them. Also, if you hadn't heard of them to give them a shot, I think they could use a couple more fans.

Yes, I have. They are also potentially well-known for having System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian guest on one of their songs (Viktor). And well done to whoever booked them as openers for Gogol Bordello, that was inspired.

With that said, I don't tend to listen to them that much... and I think they have the same System of a Down issue in that it's difficult to tell whether any given person likes them for their music or just for their over-the-top nature. Because the songs I like by them are ridiculous (especially Trans-Siberian Stand-Off) but if you like music for fun, like I do - then you have no reason not to check them out!
