Hawkeye trailer and TV show Discussion

Okay so, this is controversial for me but...okay. Okay that looks kinda cute. Old man Hawkeye just wants to spend time with his family, but a bunch of amateur mobsters and heroes keep trying to drag him into a Avengers adventure, all the while he's rolling his eyes and complaining. Its very Disney, but its a little cute that they're acknowledging Hawkeye is just a guy with a bow, all this "larger than life" hero stuff is really not for him.
And I will quote myself and call myself a sweet summer child if I end up not liking the show, but as of this trailer it looks cute.

It's okay Pony. I know your avatar as Space Marines carrying out brutal murder, but we all know you're a softie deep down.

Anyway, trailer looks fine, I guess. I could say more, but I'll leave things with the fact that every Avenger has had at least one movie to themselves, but all poor Hawkeye gets is a TV series.

I like the vibe they're going for. After racism, resurrecting your dead boyfriend, and creating the multiverse, I'm ready for some light hearted shit. And I've always liked Hawkeye, really never understood why you would want a movie about Black Widow over him. I genuinely think his action scenes were some of the most fun in the MCU, so I'm excited for a whole show full of bows and arrows.

I'm really, really hoping this one has a tighter script considering it should not have been affected too heavily by the pandemic. The last three shows I more or less enjoyed, but they had certain elements that I thought were awful and were definitely caused by plans having to be changed on the fly

Looks like another goddamn "passing of the baton because the sub 25 quadrants are our meal ticket for the next decade" to me.

I mean I think its absolutely a passing of the baton, but at least its clear. Hawkeye is retiring, Jeremy Renner is all but done with the MCU, and conveniently the comics have a Hawkeye 2.0 that Hawkeye trains and passes his namesake off to after he retires. So Im a little more forgiving of this storyline than say, Black Widow which was a passing of the torch movie disguised as a Black Widow centric movie.
I mean the idea of a sidekick eventually striking out as their own hero and eventually taking up the mantle of their trainer and mentor is a pretty big staple of comics.

Not an avid follower of the MCU that's been established over the past decade and a half, but Hawkeye will forever be the least interesting character within it. Him and Black Widow. He's a guy with good eyesight and impeccable aim. Ok. Have you seen the guy with the suit of power armor or the guy that turns green when he gets pissed and can throw buses around? The recent Black Widow film and now this are clear efforts to milk "Marvel" for Marvel's sake.
