Hellgate: London

Downloaded Hellgate a few days ago and have currently played about 6 hours or so. I am really enjoying it. The FPS aspect is nice, the graphics aren't exactly special but I like them and I like the animation quality with the swords too. However, I have heard some very negative comments about this game.

I remember being hyped for the original Hellgate: London but never got round to purchasing it.

So...

1. How does this compare with the original? How much has changed? Is it better or worse?
2. Is there anything you find particularly bad about it? The original or the new version.

I'm just looking for different peoples opinions, seeing as I never played the original and haven't played very much of the new one.

Yep, looked it up. What happened was that it was supposed to be sorta like an MMO, but due to lack of funding they shut down, and they've recently rebooted with a F2P model. So you're basically playing an update of the 2007 game.

I enjoyed it, but it's a bit buggy and gets old after a while. It's hard to keep up with the high-level mods on the harder difficulty, because the mobs don't cap in levels like players do (think the level cap was 45, don't know if they changed it) yet anything more than 5 levels higher than you scales in some weird way so it'll basically annihilate you. So you wind up farming the same areas a LOT in order to level. Gets really painful and tedious.

Yeah, a new Hellgate open beta started about a month ago. I may be completely confused though xD

Its not that it was remade its that it was resurrected from being shut down.

Think of it as APB, since that's pretty much it. Just that it had single player as well and wasn't just an MMO.

Also I thought it WAS shut down, I thought the new team (at least I think it's a new team, I really can't remember) was redesigning a lot of it
