Help! I need to find someone to cosplay

I come to you, the escapist in my time of need. I am a cosplay noob and this will be my first time trying. Firstly I want to find a character from an anime, this I will need the community's help with. I am a teenage male, with brown/blondeish slightly longer then ear length hair. I also have brown eyes, and a thin build. Please note that as this is my first time I am looking for something non complicated.

I would also like to hear some of the escapists tales about their cosplays. I want to hear epic tales of success and saddening tales of failure.

Lastly I would like some tips from the pros here on the basics of cosplay.
