Help me out Escapist !!

Alright escapists. I was in the shower... Doing my typical thinking and what-not (NO DIRTY JOKES). And well i just baught a new webcam the other day with a $100 dollar headset and i wanna put the ***** do some good use..

So anyway ive seen tons and tons of reviews of games on youtube and they all suck (except yahtzee hence why im on the escapist).

And i work at EB games so i can get any game cheaper then already cheap prices there, And ive already got 100 games over the xbox and gamecube ect. And 50 games on steam. And just finishing school ive got a lot of free time on hands.

And what i wanna do is review these games in FULL depth.. Character creation, graphics, PVP, PVE, Classes, Races, Genre, Clones etc etc.

Ive even got a catchy name "Game Guru" (if its been taken anywhere please tell me). And ive got unqiue planned for each ending of the game. Also i play guitar so i could make a catchy theme song like AVGN (i wish hehe).

SO tell me escapists. Would you watch it ? Everyone loves a good review right ?

EDIT; so you know how you can apparently make money from your youtube videos getting hits... is this true. if so how does it work?

I would watch one thing, and see if I liked it. Beware though, this is the internet, people aren't going to cut you any slack.

And remember, if you're going to use Youtube, then you can only do 10 minutes, so the in-depth part might have to be trimmed down.

I can deal with the internet.

To be brutally honest, do we need to know that niggley bits about the game? I wouldn't go into too much depth as you might bore your audience.

Well im not gonna drone, Im just not going to do a shitty job because when ever i think about buying a game ilook it up on youtube first to see what the gameplays like.

Some reviews just dont do a good enough job

That's fair enough, atleast someone wants to do a good job with it, most reviews about are made half assed.

But If you put all this time and effort into doing a "good job" and it turns out to be a flump, it'll be a waste of your time. Most of the gamers out there don't understand half the things you will go on about anyway.

Good luck, but in all honestly if I just saw some random person doing game reviews I doubt I would give it the time of day to watch. The internet is just littered with game reviewers (sadly the majority of the being "angry" in some way) and unless you do something to stand out of the pack you probably won't get a ton of hits.

One last thing, DO NOT COPY YAHTZEE. There are plenty of reviewers out there who've already ripped off his style (which is actually Charlie Brookers style, but I digress) and Yahtzee has proved he's the only one who can do it right, so just don't bother.

Examples PLZ. Out of all the internet reviewers, I haven't seen people genuinely ripping off Yahtzee in particular.

Just post a review and see what feedback you get, there's really no point in asking people "Would you watch it?" you need to actually do something first.

You need to be a youtube partner to get money from the ad revenue and to be that you have to already get a lot of views and have no copyright infringement material. Oh and on a sidenote- the User Reviews section is for reviews only, things like this should be put in off topic.

you know we have an attention span of about 5 seconds right? so you'd have to be funny, charismatic, handsome and informative enough for people to keep watching. oh and I guess a healthy dose of luck wouldn't hurt either.
but! correct me if I'm wrong here, but from the OP I understand you have about 150 games that you'd like to review. don't you think most people already know these games and don't need anyone telling them what they're like? you can of course also review new games (which you'll have to buy) but it takes a lot of time cause there's so much of them coming out. if you want to do both old AND new, you can kiss your life goodbye.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and watch a few of your reviews. I hope they're good just remember it takes a lot to stand out from the crowd.

good idea! you should also talk really fast, swear a lot and make dick analogies. oh, and maybe you could make short films to help explain your reviews and slip in a few more dick jokes. I bet noone's ever done that before
