A the days of yore, when every other game wasn't a bland CoD clone. The days of Kotor. And of HK-47

If you appreciated those days you can go to -uk.gamespot.com/greatest-video-game-sidekick/vote/battle-hub/index.html?battle_id=51- and vote for Hk-47

Sure Garrus is a great character but we need to stage a victory for the old gaming tradition. So come, fellow old gamers and vote HK-47

I'm sorry, but I've never understood the appeal of these polls. All they are is a glorified popularity contest that everyone will promptly forget about a few days later.

Also, I don't consider anything from the last console generation as "old." Now the Vectrex, THAT was some old-school gaming:

Gordon Freeman already won their best character.

I think that's enough. Though he isn't that "old", the games still have the old-style of gameplay. And I don't think that Kotor, which is about seven or so years old I think, is that "old". I just can't see the last generation as "old" yet. Come back to me in 15 years, then maybe I'll consider it.

And if you really want a "victory" for old gaming, then do what I do and pimp the hell out of GoG [http://www.gog.com/] until it's as famous as Steam.

And besides, not every old game is good. There was a LOT of crap from the previous generation and beyond. Only nobody remember the games, because they were all crap. In fact, there were probably more back then, since budgets were much lower, more people could make games.

Your examples r hardly old, i almost expected someone to lead the pacman for president campaign :p
But the old games r awesome, they at least dont have to rip off a handful of games all the time...

So just because something is old, it is automatically good? Because we never had any bad games over 10 years ago. No, everything was made of bacon and pure awesome and shitted rainbows. And there weren't rehashed clones of anything remotely popular.

/sarcasm

I may have been a tad harsh, but I'm getting sick of this general attitude some people have for anything new. As if anything new = the devil.

No. No I will not. I will not score something for "old gaming" because old gaming by in large sucked. Sure, there are classics, but the shit to something good ratio in the days of the NES and prior is significantly higher than the shit to something good ratio nowadays. This attitude that "old games are the only good games" is outright obnoxious and regressive.

Wait... you said KotOR. Since when in the name of fuck has KotOR been an "old game"? It's not even 10 years of for fuck's sake! How is that old?!

Huh? How is KotOR old?! It's only eight years old!

Besides, what's wrong with 'new games'? Shit is going to be a common factor to every years' stock of releases...

Why do we need to stage a victory for old school gaming, when Garrus ia a far better character than HK-47? I don't care if one game is 7 years older than the other, that means nothing.
Besides, the previous generation of gaming is not 'old'. Heck, I count anything that was released after the year 2000 as modern!
