Well, I've been shopping around for computer parts and think I have a pretty good idea of what parts to get. However, this is my first build and I would really like some advice from some more experienced builders on whether these parts are a good fit and if any alternatives would be better. So here's my list.

ASUS Z97-A ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboard Z97-A

Intel Core i5-4670K Quad-Core Desktop Processor 3.4 GHZ 6 MB Cache

Gigabyte GTX 770 GDDR5-2GB 2xDVI/HDMI/DP OC WINDFORCE 3X Graphics Card GV-N770OC-2GD

Corsair Carbide Series Air 540 ATX Cube Case

Crucial Ballistix Sport Very Low Profile 8GB Single DDR3-1600 1.35V UDIMM 240-Pin Memory Module
BLS8G3D1609ES2LX0

Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX600)

I'd like a low capacity SSD and a one terabyte hard drive but haven't decided on brand yet, certainly would love recommendations on what's worked for you. I'm planning to run games on one monitor and 1080p on this system. Any advice would be much appreciated!

If you're not planning on overclocking, and i'm guessing not if this is your first time building a PC yourself, get a 4670 and a H87 mainboard. Overclocking is the only relevant additional feature of the k and z series chips, and if you're not going to do it it's not relevant, obviously. Also consider a 3570 chip it has pretty much the same performance as the 4670, with some older games even (slightly) better and might be cheaper.
As for an SSD, i wouldn't really recommend that. It gives you no better performance in games (and if the PC is not for games that 770 is huge overkill) you would probably get more out of putting the money into an even faster graphics card. Unless your loading/bootup times are honestly a problem, there's little benefit to a SSD.
