Help with Fallout 3

I've just downloaded Fallout 3 to my new laptop,because it runs much better and smoother than my old laptop.
The miniute I start playing the game,I start a new game,and what does it do?
Freeze.
This has been going on since yesterday.
Every 5 seconds I am playing the game(metaphorically),it freezes,mostly during a cutscene or something.
I've noticed that playing offline works,but now it has no effect.
I put my graphics to low,all the special effects off,and yet it continues.
Can I have some advice/help/links?

Where did you download it from? Did it get all the patches?

I don't really know what to suggest other then that, maybe try updating video card drivers or something.

Update video drivers, reinstall, check official forums.

I had similar problems when running Oblivion back when that came out. Even after I reinstalled it and updated drivers, it kept freezing. Turns out the graphics card I had was not top of the line game playing-wise and running the game was more than it could handle, despite it being in a newly purchased laptop.

Hopefully that's not your problem (don't what kind of graphics card you have). Def check official forums and look for troubleshooting guides on the site or on the disk.
