MEMORY- 4 Gb DDR2 1066mhz
PSU- Coll master extreme DUO 650w ( looking fora better one)

It seems a little excessive, my compy only cost ~750 and it's amazing anyways.

And, PM Eggo. He's great with this stuff.

I've been AMD all my life. I tried thinking about Intel I7 E8500 i think. but i couldn't bring myself to do it.
I was comparing everything to crysis and COH. I want awesome frame rates. I did think about a HD 4870x2 but im not sure...

Awesome frame rates...?

A 4850 will get you smooth gameplay on COD5 with maximum settings at 1920x1200.

And I don't really think it matters if you've been "AMD All my life".

I'm telling you what's better.

Hell a Q6600 is better than a Phenom right now.

There isn't any reason to spend 2100 dollars on something because you're a fan of the brand, that's just dumb.

In a nut shell i was looking for a gaming rig that can handle anything modern games can throw at it. My main concerns are the CPU, MOTHERBOARD AND GRAPHICS CARD

Jesus Christ 1,200 for that? shop around I bet you can get it for $900.
Also
What games are you going to play?
Think modern directx 10 games. COD 4 and 5. Crysis, red alert 3, gta4 all of them

I've always been for AMD but you shouldn't be blindly loyal; go Intel for this generation unless you're penny pinching...Which you clearly are not.

Is your budget going to be $2100?
my original budget was 1500. i went higher due to the cpu, motherboard and graphics cards. almost 1k on those alone.

Well, you're not only overpaying for the parts you got, but your parts aren't that great. Try this gaming configuration out:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pWf0R65ULXAn6FdekgrtQTA&gid=12

All you need to do is add Vista 64.

Wait, you're from Australia :sigh:

Why don't people specify AUD around here?

my bad. iasume yr in the us. so thats like half to u... bloody dollar!

This. I loves me my AMD, but Intel is ahead this generation. Of course AMD processors are 2/3s the price of Intel processors of similar power, though the high end Intels far exceed the highest AMDs.

Still, loyalty will always play a role. Look at me, I still haven't forgiven Intel for that shit Pentium 4 C I bought from them.
