Help with Windows Live-Not sure where to post this

I bought DoW 2 off of Steam today, and lo the great anti-piracy gods have yet again taken it upon themselves to victimize innocent customers.

Anywho, in order to play even the single player I need a Windows Live account. No problem, I create one. Then I need to install updates for it. Again, no problem, until I try to play the game again. After I've installed the updates, restarted my computer, etc. it stills says I need to install the updates.

So I guess it's not installing. Come to think of it, it stops installing as soon as it reaches the "Preparing to remove previous versions" or something like that, then reopens the game as if it's done.

What should I do?

EDIT: Now it won't even let me login to Windows Live. Awesome; SO glad this system was implemented. I kind of want my money back already.

Uninstall the game. And reinstall it, or actually...install GFWL manually.

GFWL is not anti-piracy btw. It's used in DoW 2 as a matchmaking system.

EDIT: Also. They hate it too. because it's shitty when you have Steam AND GFWL. They didn't want it like that, but needed it to be like that for..some..reason. I forget. Anyway, yeah the devs know the system is poorly implemented. Nothing to be done now.

they are taking out gfwl for the expansion
I had this problem too, for some stupid reason gfwl cant auto update all the way for me so I had to manually dl the latest update, every stupid time, Im trying to find the place on the support site to do that, they hide the stupid thing
