HEP - Identifying Strange Christmas Gift

Hey all,

Can anybody tell me what these are? The larger one is about as round as a wrist, the smaller one the size of a finger. The relatives that gave these to us are well-travelled, so I have no idea which country they're from.

Ummmmmm. Some sort of weird bangle and ring I would guess.

They kinda look like a self-made ring and wrist band? Not sure really...
