Heroes of the Storm (HotS) and who you'd like to see in it.

Hi all.

I learned that Blizzard are going to release a MOBA with characters from their most popular games and instantly wondered about what characters would be in it. I've seen some already (Kerrigan, Diablo and Arthas etc) but I want to know more about the potential character roster.

I'm hoping that the Butcher from Diablo 2 is in there somewhere. I thought he was cool.

Is there anyone you would like to see revitalized for this game. Let me know.

I wouldnt mind seeing at least one of the vikings from the lost vikings probably wont happen though like Rock n Roll racing its one of their forgotten games although im not sure they were even technically Blizzard then.

Basically they dont have a lot to draw on in variety its pretty much Warcraft with a sprinkling of Diablo and Starcraft I would like it if they found a way to let me import my WOW character somehow but im not sure thats possible or even sensible for the game (probably not). So I guess Azhara would get my vote.

Says it all, right there. In that regard, however, I wouldn't mind seeing the likes of Narud, Kael'Thas Sunstrider, Imperius, and my personal favorite of matchups: Illidan Stormrage vs Arthas - all of the higher powered characters from the franchises - and just watching them throw down.

Forgotten games? Hah. Blizzard has this ridiculous love affair with The Lost Vikings. They're about half of an entire zones questing experience in WoW. They're talked about quite a bit on twitter. Heck, the arcade game you can play in the bar of Starcraft 2's campaign is called Lost Viking.

Trust me, they love their vikings. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see at least one of them in there.

OP: I'd love to see Jimmy, Fenix and Tassadar. Possibly Duran.

Then again they'd probably butcher most of them from what I've seen in WoL and HoTS

Lor'Themar if for no other reason than for him to do something.

Maiev. Seriously, I can think of few better "assassins" in the Blizzard lore. Certainly better suited to the role than Raynor.

When they run out of story-significant characters to put out, Gamon.

Murloc Warleader. He should absolutely be able to place Murloc Huts that spawn little Murlocs when enemies get too close.

Hogger.

Edwin Van Cleef / Mr. Smite. I'd be happy with either.

Dragon Aspect might be neat, like Alexstrasza or Nozdormu, as a big siegey character.

More of the lesser evils, like Duriel and Andariel. Izual might be a cool character to contrast with Tyrael.

More Diablo characters in general really. We only get one Archangel? Really? Imo, player characters shouldn't count. That's like putting in "Paladin" or "Void Stalker" and expecting people to get excited.

I gotta go with Nova. The girl got cheated out of being in her own game before Starcraft 2 was even a thing. And besides all that, she's a ghost! How much potential is there with a ghost in a MOBA? Running around cloaked, ganking people. Probably a glass-cannon ranged character. Calling down a nuke *has* to be her ultimate too.

If you watch the trailer for the game on the HotS YouTube channel, you'll see she's definitely gonna be in the game. And it will be grand.

These are a few that are popping up in my mind that I haven't seen from the list:

Grom Hellscream
Cairne Bloodhoof
Alexstrasza
Ysera
Deckard Cain
Lor'themar Theron
Leeroy Jenkins (not really a Blizzard character per se, but it would be awesome to see him in game)

There are so many characters from all three universes that they could easily make 300+ heroes at least.

I saw her at Blizzcon with Virtual Ticket.

In more seriousness, I'd want to play as Izual, Nova, Illidan and Mephisto. Especially Mephisto.

I'd like to see some of the Dragon Aspects make an appearance, especially Norzdormu. Characters based around time-manipulation are great when done right, but unfortunately, they rarely are. Of the top of my head, the only good time-manipulation characters from any online game is Faceless Void from Dota 2 and to some extent the mage from WoW.
