As an immigrant, when a racist fool tells me to go back home, I just respond, "FINE!! I'll go back to my island of sun, sea, sand and fucking relaxation." Dumbass.

Congratulations you horny hetros. You finally get a day to yourself. To celebrate your rageing genitals and 30sec thrusting. I mean, straight people have had it tough these past couple of decades, maybe even centuries. Having people speaking to the opposite sex, being civil around the opposite sex, trying to avoid being "friendzoned". The struggle is real, man.

I mean, hetros cant even show any signs of affection to their other half without verbal abuse thrown at them, they struggle to marry the one they love and the most recent issue surrounding bathrooms.

I mean... could you image the opposite sex sharing bathrooms with them? Thats like, totally eww. Men will just mess it up more and the women will be disgusted. And dont get them started on the whole toilet lid war. Up or down, up or down. The war is real, man.

...

...

Parasondox here with a very special nessage for you folk. Either social media is bored or just running out of ideas but this shit is funny in a stupid way. Or stupid in a funny way. I am a trained professional dumbass who is willing to take the risk of being unfunny. So please be responsible and don't try this at home.

Thank you.

Doesn't this happen about every year at around this time?

Either way, I wouldn't take it so seriously

It's trending on Twitter.

Seriously though, how do things get days or months? What agency decides this stuff?

Cause ya know what? Lets just fucking do it. Heterosexual Cisgender White Male Day, just make it a fucking thing. No one can then complain about all the other shit that gets days. It's not like anyone in their right mind would celebrate it.

Fuck, the 4th of July is next week. My own countries national holiday. I'll be working. It's just a monday. Not like any of this shit matters. The only holidays that matter in this country are the ones we have to buy shit for.

Doesn't have to be anyone, doesn't have to be official, a few of the big ones aren't. IIRC, the International Transgender Day of Remembrance doesn't have official status.

So all you need is to spread the word around?

We should start a holiday for the most pointless thing. like Air. Lets make a day to celebrate air.

Is that the day they kill everything that lives in the ocean that the rest of the world actually care about, like Dolphins?

Straight people can be proud of their sexuality if they want to be, I don't really see the fuss.

Well, supposedly it's meant to give thnks to the bounties of the ocean. Which kind of makes sense. So basically it's about religious involvement in continuing to use bottom trawling nets to tear up the ocean floor and render it uninhabitable for the fish that the day suggests will always be there. Because, like ... the fish will always be there, right?

Reactionary passive aggressive attack on the idea of gay pride. Rather childish in of itself, but a symptom of a greater issue.

Gay pride can stand up to some criticism I'm sure.

If anything, criticism is a good thing as it encourages discussion and so on.

Yeah ... the idea isn't new, either. Nobody holds a white pride parade without sinister overtones of the people who make it a reality. Then again, there is still a Columbus Day, which is a national holiday... and an Australia Day, which is a national holiday... plenty of fucked up days to celebrate internationally.

It would be alright if the latter was at least held as if in memorial for the worst expressions of colonialism. Kind of like Anzac Day ... national holiday, but it's more in solemn and regretful experience.

Pretty much everything has a day, so why not?
There's no requirement for "deserving" a day, it's just a pointless PR thing that has been so overused that it's meaningless by now.

EDIT: Actually, it's like internet activism. You create a day to show how much you care as long as you don't actually have to do anything. It's like telling people how empathic and virtuous you are on Reddit (or here).

Fortunately, anything and everything to do with gay people doesn't lack for criticism.

Personally I don't think Australia day is inherently that bad, it's just a convenient day to point out at a problem few people seem that interested in. Like blaming Cook for everything, while there's plenty of serious issues that we should have addressed decades ago, it's not really fair to lay blame so singularly.

Well, hardly Cook. I think the problem wouldn't be so bad if there was a Cook Day, or a Janszoon Day, or a Tasman Day... but Australia Day is kind of problematic in that it commemorates the landing of the First Fleet. Which is ... ehh. That's a bit on the nose, and I can see why it should be scrapped altogether. As you were saying, if it commemorated the act of exploration ... of making the world smaller ... I think I would be down with that, but the day of the landing of the First Fleet is pretty... ugh.

I could totally see a 'Cook Day' replacement, though. Scientist, explorer, the best navigator of his age, not to mention a formidable soldier in combat and an inspired tactician ... didn't come from (a lot of) money, self-made and even according to his own men on his last ship; "Austere and modest..."

I think that would be a pretty good replacement. Where as less said about Banks the better.
