Yeah... He totally does have a "Western" influence. I guess...
It seems loads of people hate it, but what do you think of this "new" Dante, Escapist? It kind of pisses me off how they pretty much completely scrapped the old look we all know and love, but it should work out. He seems to still remain cool while being a bit emo looking. I hope he is still extremely badass, and is still funny and cool. Not serious and subdued.

EDIT: After having time to reflect, I'm coming around to the idea. And guys, the hair colour makes sense, trust me.
White hair is a demonic trait, but he didn't always have it due to being half-human. However, in the trailer, you can see the white coming through. You can even see it in the picture!
Also, he is wearing a vest (not shirtless), and I don't see a problem with him smoking.
EDIT 2: I guess the reason he is beat up because he's in a police lineup. I reckon he doesn't have Wolvie-style healing yet because his demon powers haven't come full swing at his young age (17, 18?). Hence his not-so-demonic hair.
EDIT 3: Dudes/Lady-Dudes, we don't exactly know his personality yet, so don't jump the gun. But the trailer starts with him casually smoking and proceeding to stub it out on a demon's face; then it ends with him just chilling out on top of a really tall building. What we know of "DmC" Dante so far is:
-Young, around 17 years old.
-In a Young Offenders Rehab Center. (Looks like a bad place)
-Demon powers not fully developed?
-Seems to be very rebellious
-Voice is more "brutal" but not raspy
-Smokes
-His name is Dante

Ninja Theory made Heavenly Sword, as well DmC (this) and the looking-good, upcoming Enslaved: Journey To The West.
