High School of the Dead

So ive recently been watching high school of the dead anime and just wanted to know your views on the subject.

Do you think its a good anime portrayal of zombies or is it just another excuse for T&A?.

My personal opinion is mixed since to me it has a fair ammount of T&A but also a good ammount of story even though an episode drags them from one small location to the other.

I also quite liked this opening and its music.

I've never heard of the anime, so I thought it was either some cheesy B-movie, a terrible movie concept, or some kind of forum game. My completely uninformed face value judging of this anime, based on the bad name and knowledge that it has lots of T&A...not good.

Also this show can have its non serious moments but seems to have a little decent plot in there with a resident evil style zombie apocalypse.

Well I haven't watched it yet. I WAS interested in it at first, but then when I heard exactly how absurdly prominent the fanservice was my interest just went down to 0%. I'm sick of fanservice series'. Fanservice used to be just that, a bonus service for fans, now it's the sign of a crutch used by shows with nothing else going for them.

I've been really curious to check this out because I love the manga. But I'm kind of worried where the anime is/could go. I mean the manga really hasn't gone far at all, and there is like a single chapter every 3ish months at best. I'm just wonder if they take a completely different turn somewhere, which worries me because a lot of anime's that overtake the manga just go down obscene paths and fizzle out.

The T&A is not all that surprising since the illustrator of the manga original is a hentai mangaka.

Besides that it's a decent to good show with high production values and pretty good story/characters.

I think it's both really. A good Anime take on the "Zombie Apocalypse"-thing which is unfortunately also used as an excuse for preposterous amounts of T&A. Once you start to get the feel that the reason the survivors haven't turned might just as well have been that they're infected with some kind of immunizing must-be-a-stripper-instead virus, that's when the fanservice has gotten out of hand.

You know when you just have a sudden realization moment? After staring at this thread for 3 minutes, I just realized, T&A means tits and ass. SHAZAM!

Or toes and ankles. It could really be a shorts and sandals kind of school.

Once you start to get the feel that the reason the survivors haven't turned might just as well have been that they're infected with some kind of immunizing must-be-a-stripper virus, that's when the fanservice has gotten out of hand.

I would have to agree with you on that mainly because along the episodes T&A was most prominent in the latest two episodes that involved the humvee and i'm starting to worry on wether the plot will strive urther since its apparently slated as a 12 episode anime.

He has to lie down on top of her because the rifle is tied to her? Okay, I can roll with that. Now they're having her gasp loudly with every shot? Okay, I guess it's justified... And now we're tracking the bullet in slow motion as it passes between Busujima's thighs? I literally laughed out loud, but okay; I guess you can do that once in a while in a series this ecchi. Another slow-mo bullet? Sure, okay. Wait, it's passing between her breasts? Horizontally? You're kidding me, right?

And now we're left to watch the recoil from the sniper rifle spread ripples through Rei's breasts in super slow-motion? *Pauses video* Is my family seeing this? *Looks around* No? Good.

I mean, I'm fine with some T&A now and then, hell, even a lot of it, I don't mind. But going all Time warp on me? Were they even being serious?

After watching that scene for plenty of lulz i put on Burley brawl from the matrix and watched the scene again and wouldn't you know it went with it.

i've only watched full metal alchemist & brotherhood, and deathnote, i tryed cowboy bepop and started watchign neon genesis eva but i can't get into the later 2 they seem to soppy and emotional bull, kinda what i dislike about anime

Hah Love the opening song, it's a solid anime it just has too much fanservice, wayyyy tooo much.

I'm still watching it, I'm enjoying it, though the damn censorship is getting on my nerves.
As for the portrayel of the zombies, it's not too bad actually, except most of the time they're interested in tearing off the main heroine's clothes rather than eating their flesh.
