As is usually par for the course, retailers have the jump on revealing an HD remaster collection ahead of the developer?s official announcement. In this case, Amazon has a listing for the Hitman HD Trilogy with a release date of January 29th, 2013.

The listing indicates that the game will include Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts, and Hitman: Blood Money. The games are remastered in HD and will include trophies with platinums to unlock for each title. The links on each of the games will take you to the trophy lists on PS3T. The Premium Edition will also come with an exclusive art book that has some artistic reinterpretations of iconic moments from these games. Currently the prices for both editions of the game are listed at $39.99, so you might want to opt to place your order for the Premium Edition.
I will definitely look into this. I have been loving the HD remasters as of late.

What do you guys think?

Oh yeah I saw this over on Xbox360Achievements earlier today.

I kind of like it.
HD collections give me the chance to play the older games that everyone loves on my 360. I don't have to track them down on EBay and I don't have to worry about whether or not I have the console it was originally released on.

It'd certainly be interesting to look at, but the gameplay from 1 and 2 hasn't aged all that well, having played 2 recently.

Still, a quick save option would be good.

i fully agree, some may pass them as simple cash-in's..but it gives me chance to play games i missed, and i dont have to jump through hoops of tracking the old versions down.

What I really want to play is Blood Money with the graphics and mechanics of Absolution. That would be awesome. :D

Yeah, saw this on X360A yesterday. Definitely looking forward to it coming out (assuming it'll come out in the UK as well)

Tempted by the sound of this Premium Edition one as well.

Wish they had a HD release for PC though, blood money is still playable, the others not *so* much

I don't really get what this is doing. Blood money was already released in 1080p (at least I am able to set it to 1080p in the settings on my pc), so what exactly would they be changing? Hitman 2 and contracts I could see needing an HD remake, but I would also think it's pretty easy to download a mod that boosts the resolution up to 1080p, so...what exactly are they doing to make it better other than boosting the resolution?

They'd have to do more than just up the graphics for hitman 2 and maybe three. The AI in 2 is pretty basic now for a stealth game. They hadn't yet put the reaction of them telling you to go away first. They just went straight for their guns XD

I don't think I've ever purchased any hd remake of a game, but if this is available for PC, and guaranteed compatible with Win7, i may well buy it on steam spme time. Replaying them is much more preferrable to playing the travesty that was Absolution.

I dunno, the map worked better with the older games, but I can't imangine myself playing Blood Money with the instinct thing. PLus...fuck instinct. If I'm playing on hard and wearing a cop uniform, and walk by a cop...I'm found to almost immediately. If I did that in Blood Money...zero fucks were given until I started doing something suspicious. Having to use 'Instinct' to get by enemies was incredibly annoying. And once you ran out, it made the point of changing clothes pointless. I'd much rather they kept the gameplay as they were in the games, and just update the graphics (Instead of increasing the resolution, so it can be called a 'HD' game).

But Hitman 2 in Absolutions graphic engine would look incredible. Especially if they kept some of the cheats, like the nail gun, or zero gravity...or exploding bullets which technically didn't kill anyone unless the bullet itself hit someone.

Yes yes yes!

Very keen for this, I have fond memories of these games, especially of Hitman 2. I guess it was too much to ask for them to include the first one, which is probably a little too old by now.

Will be interesting to see how they have aged, especially after having played Absolution - it might be tricky to get back into the swing of things. Some of the levels from Hitman 2 were so good. I miss 47 being a proper assassin working for the Agency and having real contracts to perform, instead of being on the run the whole damn time :-(

Personally, I liked the changes to disguises. Was it realistic? Not really. The thing is, disguises used to almost feel like a cheat to me. Now they actually take some management. It also means that one of a kind disguises are more valuable. While not realistic, it made sense to me that members of the same group would know their own well enough to be suspicious of an impostor. It definitely makes the game harder though. I think I might agree with you about trading instinct for the map. Idk, they're both technically superpowers, but one shows you the whole area, the other just shows you your immediate surroundings. They're not really as different as people seem to think, other than visually.

I'm excited. So excited, in fact, that I'm going to sell Absolution to get the money that I'm going to use for this collection.

I might as well because I really can't bring myself to finish it. Damn that game.
