Have you ever bought a game that you might have never tried purely because of price or an insanely good deal?

Yesterday, I was at Gamestop and I found Metal Gear Solid 2 for 99 cents and 3: Snake Eater for 5 bucks. I've never played the MGS series before and it would be remiss of me to not even try, especially at this price. Not wanting to pass up the offer, I bought them on whim.

I found Eternal Darkness for 99 cents and Beyond Good and Evil for 4 bucks at a music store today. If my hands scooped them up any faster I would have broken the sound barrier.

I once found Crysis 1, Crysis Warhead and Crysis Wars for £3 at a clearance sale in a Game once. The good thing was, I could actually run all of them at highest settings. It was good day.

I once picked up Deus Ex: GOTY and System Shock 2 (both boxed copies) many years back for $5 each. Best price I've ever paid for great games.

In a non-game example, I once found a new copy of Battlestar Galactica: Season 2 a couple weeks after it came out in a bin mistagged as $7. Picked that up right quick.

Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard for $20 at Gamestop.

Funniest game I've ever played. After the mediocre reviews I probably wouldn't have bought it at full price.

This isn't a case of finding a game I wouldn't have otherwise played for cheap, but I got the Legend of Zelda collectors Edition for Gamecube ( Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, NES Zelda and one other I can't remember) for $1 at EB Games once... That was awesome.

Also I got Trine out of one of the indy bundles and really enjoyed that game and because of that, I also bought Trine 2 during the Steam summer sale.

I got that Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom for pretty cheap out of curiosity, I knew nothing of the game but took the plunge anyway, I think its a charming game.

Not a game, but I got the Naked Gun trilogy on DVD for £3! And I also managed to buy the Spagetti Western Trilogy seperately for a total of £9, when the trilogy DVD set is uniformly priced at £25.

Most of my games were given to me as presents, so they were technically free.

Back when Woolworths was closing down, I found a brand new copy of Bioshock, with the tin case and everything.

£10.

I was well chuffed that day :D

I got Tera online and both Mass Effect games for 10 bucks a peace. I like Amazon. Also Skyrim is like 30 bucks on there right now.

L.A. Noire was $2.75 on the Steam Summersale. Needless to say, I fucking bought it! I really feel like I'm stealing because it's such a massive and fun game.

The only reason I bought Saints Row 3 was because of how dirt cheap it was during Steam's summer sale. Most fun gaming I've had in years!

Grand Theft Auto III

Before I actually played it, I thought this series was a gritty crime simulator. As such, I was reluctant to play it. But since I saw it hanging around for a buck (and I'm an aspiring videogame designer and felt I should play this landmark title), I went ahead and bought it. It was a long time before I actually tried it out. But when I did, I loved it so much! It's truly bonkers and hilarious! Far more looney than I'd expected!

I've picked up Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for a buck each. There are other games I've gotten like this, though their reasons have less to do with the low price, and more to do with other things (like when I completely lost my mind, uncovering a lone copy of The Ultimate Doom at a local GoodWill), so there wouldn't be much relevance to speaking of them.
